In this video, I explain the differences between the well-known non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs: Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and Naproxen (Aleve). These are both over-the-counter analgesic medications that are very similar especially when just seeing them on the shelf in the drug store, but there are some key differences to know about when you are taking either of them. In this video, I start off by giving a general overview of NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), then I break down the key differences between ibuprofen and naproxen. As a nurse practitioner, I am commonly asked about these two drugs and so I hope this video helps you understand the differences between ibuprofen and naproxen as well.

I worked many years as a registered nurse (RN) in the emergency room, then continued working in the emergency room after becoming a nurse practitioner (NP). I also did travel nursing as an ER nurse.
