- Baclofen is a Skeletal muscle relaxant that inhibits both monosynaptic and polysynaptic reflexes within the spinal cord resulting in decreased spasticity. it reduces the release of excitatory neurotransmitters and substance P, by binding to the GABA-B receptor.
- It is available as 5 mg, 10 mg and 25 mg tablets. And also available as injection.
- Baclofen is used in the treatment of spasticity due to severe chronic disorders, such as multiple sclerosis and spinal cord lesion.
