Hey everyone, in today's video I talk about the class of medications called sulfonylureas. Sulfonylureas work by agonizing the beta receptor cells on the pancreas causing insulin secretion. These medications are commonly prescribed in type II diabetes and they are relatively old and inexpensive medications. In my opinion, these medications are not the best for the management of diabetes because of the side effects and long term effects. In this video, I discuss the reasons behind my opinion.
