Inderal (propranolol) is a beta-blocker. Beta-blockers affect the heart and blood circulation.
Inderal is used to treat tremors, angina (chest pain), hypertension (high blood pressure), heart rhythm disorders, and other heart or circulatory conditions. It is also used to treat or prevent heart attack, and to reduce the severity and frequency of migraine headaches. Inderal Tablet helps to decrease anxiety and relieve tremors.

Inderal is indicated in the management of hypertension.
The usual initial dosage is 40 mg Inderal twice daily. Dosage may be increased gradually until adequate blood pressure control is achieved. The usual maintenance dosage is 120 mg to 240 mg per day.

For Angina Pectoris daily doses of 80 mg to 320 mg Inderal, when administered orally, twice a day, three times a day, or four times a day.
In Migraine The initial dose is 80 mg Inderal daily in divided doses. The usual effective dose range is 160 mg to 240 mg per day. The dosage may be increased gradually to achieve optimum results.
For the treatment of Essential Tremor, The initial dosage is 40 mg Inderal twice daily. Optimum reduction of essential tremor is usually achieved with a dose of 120 mg per day.

The most common side effects of Inderal include:
• nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhea
• constipation
• stomach cramps
• decreased sex drive
• sleep problems (insomnia)
• feeling tired
Most side effects are short-lived and improve as your body gets used to the medicine.


You should not use Inderal if you are allergic to propranolol, or if you have:
• asthma;
• very slow heartbeats that have caused you to faint
• a serious heart condition.
• It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Inderal Tablet.
• Inderal tablets may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
• Inderal Tablet may cause side effects that could affect your ability to drive.
• Inderal Tablet is not safe to use in patients with kidney disease.
• Inderal Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease.


Inderal (propranolol) is available as 10 mg, 40 mg, tablets for oral administration.

Take Inderal exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Take this medicine at the same time each day. Do not crush, chew, break, Swallow it whole. Your blood pressure will need to be checked often.
