Mometasone is also known as the brand names: Asmanex Twisthaler.
Mometasone is used to treat asthma. It is taken 220 mcg daily. It can be given in the evening or in divided doses twice daily.
Some common side effects of mometasone are headache, fatigue, depression, musculoskeletal pain, and upper respiratory infection.
Some less common side effects are abdominal pain, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, bruising, infection, influenza, back pain, and ear pain.
Do not take mometasone if:
• You are already taking any corticosteroids.
While taking mometasone, it is important to remember to tell your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any of the following:
• Signs of infection, severe fatigue, irritability, tremors, increased heart rate, confusion, dizziness, sweating, and menstrual pain
• Signs of an allergic reaction (wheezing, chest tightness, fever, itching, bad cough, blue skin color, etc.)
• If you start taking any new medications, supplement or vitamins
• If your condition does not improve or you develop new or worsening symptoms
