Here is a small video intended for OBGYN residents and other residents regarding the medical management for patients with overactive bladder. This video is a collaboration with Dr. Alexandra Dubinskaya.

The video focuses on the 2 main classes of medications: beta-3 agonists and anticholinergics. For anticholinergics, the main ones are oxybutynin and tolterodine. the main side effects of this are dry eyes, tachycardia, constipation, dry mouth.
For beta-3 agonists: the main medications are mirabegron and vibegron. The side effect profiles are significantly less pronounced compared to the anticholinergics. The contraindication for mirabegron is uncontrolled hypertension, since this medication can result in an increase in blood pressure.

Still, OAB is a complex medical condition, which should be first assessed with behavioral changes.
