Mechanism of action of Oxybutinin:

Acetylcholine competitive antagonist at the post-ganglionic muscle receptor level, resulting in relaxation of the smooth muscles of the bladder.

Therapeutic Indications and Dosage of Oxybutynin:

Oral route:
Adults: 5 mg 3 times a day. In case of nocturnal urination disorders: 15 mg per day in a single dose at the end of the day. Increase to a maximum of 5 mg 4 times a day to obtain a clinical response, if side effects are well tolerated. After the initial control, a reduced maintenance dose can be introduced.
Children over 5 years old: 5 mg 2 times a day (spaced at least 4 hours apart).

Via Transdermal. Patch:
apply one patch to abdomen, hips or buttocks 2 times a week (every 3 or 4 days), do not apply 2 patches in the same place (1 patch contains 36 mg of oxybutynin, releases a nominal rate of 3.9 mg every 24 hours).
