PLASTAZOL (Cilostazol) belongs to a class of medications known as Platelet-Aggregation Inhibitors also known as Antiplatelet medications.
INDICATIONS:
PLASTAZOL (Cilostazol) is generally used to treat a specific type of muscle pain known as:
INTERMITTENT CLAUDICATION - A muscle pain that happens when the patient is active and stops when at rest.(Can affect any muscle but majorly affects legs , buttocks and thighs)
The major cause of this condition is hindrance in the blood flow due to platelet aggregation.
Due to its Anti-platelet action, it can also be used to prevent heart attacks & strokes
MECHANISM OF ACTION:-
PLASTAZOL (Cilostazol) widens the blood vessels and decreases the stickiness of the platelets, thereby increasing the blood flow to the lower limbs which ultimately helps in relieving the pain
DOSAGE:
50 - 100 mg twice daily (Every 12 hours) / 30 Min before or 2 hours after meal
