Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor used to treat excess gastric acid secretion.

It can be used to treat gastric ulcers and it is a part of helicobacter pylori infection. Rabeprazole is available as delayed release tablet at 20 mg strength. On very long term use, it can produce malabsorption, anemia and hypomagnesemia. It can also induce bone fractures when it is continuously and repeatedly used for above 3 years.
