Yesterday was the last day of 2022 and I went out with a bang. 💉I had my first of many to come Zoladex injections which has officially put me into menopause. It seems ironically fitting after the last 6 months to end the year this way. I have been dreading this part of my journey, and have been struggling a lot with the fact that I will be on this hormone blocking therapy for the rest of my life, blocking my body from ever producing estrogen again (Since my breast cancer was Estrogen positive, I am at high risk for ovarian cancer). I will have this injection every single month, until I have my ovaries surgically removed.
I will be starting a new year with a lot of unknown challenges ahead, but most importantly I am starting this new year knowing that I WILL BE OK. 🤍
No matter what life throws at you, you have to remind yourself that you are strong enough and capable to handle it. Going into this journey I didn’t know how I would manage it. I have taken one day at a time, and every time I get through another hurdle I am reminded that I can do it.
16 rounds of chemotherapy ✔️
Induced Menopause ✔️
Next up, Surgery on January 3rd. 🤍
The plan after that, getting back to living and enjoying life one day at a time.🫶🏻
