Carisoprodol is also known as the brand names: Soma.
Carisoprodol comes in 250 and 350 mg tablets.
Carisoprodol is used to treat short term muscle pain. It is taken orally with or without food. Take 250-350 mg 3 times daily and at bedtime.
A common side effect of carisoprodol is drowsiness.
Some less common side effects are dizziness and headache.
Do not take carisoprodol if:
• You have a history of acute intermittent porphyria
While taking carisoprodol, it is important to remember to tell your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any of the following:
• Seizures or severe loss of strength and energy
• Signs of a significant reaction (wheezing, chest tightness, fever, itching, bad cough, blue skin color, etc.)
• If you start taking any new medications, vitamins or supplements
• Your condition does not improve or you develop new or worsening symptoms
