Cimzia Side Effects
**Common Side Effects (1-10% of patients):**

* Injection site reactions (redness, swelling, pain)
* Headache
* Fatigue
* Nausea
* Upper respiratory tract infections (e.g., colds, sinus infections)
* Bronchitis
* Diarrhea
* Abdominal pain

**Less Common Side Effects (1% of patients):**

* Hepatitis B reactivation

* Heart failure

* Vision changes

**Rare but Serious Side Effects:**

* Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), a rare and often fatal brain infection
* Tuberculous meningitis, a rare and serious infection of the brain and spinal cord
* Osteomyelitis (infection of the bone)
* Endocarditis (infection of the heart valve)
* Esophageal ulcers
* Perforation of the digestive tract
* Renal failure

**Immune System Effects:**

* Decreased white blood cell count
* Increased risk of infection
* Suppression of delayed-type hypersensitivity skin reactions

**Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Effects:**

* There are no adequate and well-controlled studies on the use of Cimzia in pregnant women. The potential risks to the fetus are unknown.
* It is recommended not to use Cimzia while breastfeeding.

**Other Potential Side Effects:**

* Increased cholesterol levels
* Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
