Your medication Fluconazole

Fluconazole is also known as the brand name: Diflucan

Fluconazole comes in multiple dosage forms, such as an IV solution, an oral solution, and an oral tablet.

Fluconazole is most commonly used for fungal infections all over the body including the mouth, throat, esophagus, lungs, bladder, genital area and the blood. No matter what your doctor has you taking it for, fluconazole is usually taken once daily and is safe to take either with meals or on an empty stomach.

Standard dosing of fluconazole ranges from 50 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg, and 200 mg.

Some common side effects with fluconazole include headache.
Some less common side effects with fluconazole include skin rash, stomach pain or nausea or vomiting, or cause skin yellowing.

While taking fluconazole, remember it is important to tell your doctor or pharmacist if:
• You have brown or dark-colored urine, clay colored stools, or yellowing of the skin or eyes
• A rash develops
• You have kidney or liver function failure
• You start taking new medications, vitamins or supplements
