Over time, that can cause serious health problems, such as heart disease, vision loss, and kidney disease.

Jardiance may be used in combination with metformin to help lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Metformin is another drug used to treat type 2 diabetes. Several clinical studies have shown that Jardiance and metformin are effective in treating diabetes when used together.
