A Must-Know for Every Doctor: Ticagrelor & Aspirin Interaction 💊
This common antiplatelet combination has a critical detail many miss:
Side Effect: Ticagrelor can cause temporary shortness of breath (dyspnea) due to mild bronchoconstriction. Don't stop the med unless it's severe!
THE CRUCIAL POINT: For maintenance therapy with Ticagrelor 90mg BD, the Aspirin dose should NOT exceed 100mg. The ideal dose is 75mg.
Why? Higher doses of Aspirin can inhibit Ticagrelor's action.
