This video explains how a contraceptive implant is fitted.
The contraceptive implant (Nexplanon) is a small flexible plastic rod that's placed under the skin in your upper arm by a doctor or nurse. It releases the hormone progestogen into your bloodstream to prevent pregnancy and lasts for 3 years.
Click the link to find out where you can get the contraceptive implant fitted: https://www.nhs.uk/service-sea....rch/other-services/C or call the free and confidential sexual health helpline on 0300 123 7123.

Patient Caitlyn was on different types of birth control. She found it was a struggle to remain consistent taking them, and also experienced negative side effects. She ended up talking with Austin area Family Medicine Specialist Dr. Paul John about her problem, and he prescribed her a new birth control device called Nexplanon. Nexplanon is a very small elastic tube device that only needs to be replaced every three years. It slowly releases a hormone over the course of those three years, allowing the patient to free themselves from the burden of taking a pill every day.

You mentioned that you've been using the Implanon for contraception and after having it removed you're wondering what sort of side effects are there and how long is it going to take to get pregnant? Studies have shown that 90% of women actually ovulate within three to four weeks after it's removed. Once that device is out of your body you're not receiving the hormone anymore and you can start ovulating and thus get pregnant. Some women notice that they have a little bit of irregular spotting or bleeding for a few weeks and then have a normal period. That will help you to time things just right if you're actually trying to conceive. Once you're having regular cycles you can usually figure out that you're ovulating about mid-cycle and try to time intercourse with ovulation and increase your chances of having a baby. Overall it takes most couples up to six months to get pregnant and this is whether you had the Implanon or not. Your chances aren't greater of having infertility problems just because you've had that form of contraception. I hope the very best for you and if you have more questions for me in the future, please feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/intermountainmoms and recommend us to your friends and family too.

Hey YouTube,
I wanted to do a 18 Month Update on the Nexplanon Birth Control. I will also leave the links down below to the initial reviews and my initial implantation of Nexplanon. Unfortunately, I am not as happy with this prevention method, as I was a year ago. My advice for any woman that wants this is to increase activity and be mindful of food choices. More details are in the video on my experience and the side effects. Every woman is different, but it may be time for a change. Please comment, rate, and subscribe. Let me know if you have any questions. If you are on this birth control let me know how your experience went.

Learn about the possible side effects of a birth control implant in this Howcast video.
The birth control implant is a small plastic rod that gets placed into your arm, and it lasts for three years.
One of the most common side effects of this form of birth control is breakthrough bleeding. You may notice that when you have this implant placed that your periods will no longer be predictable. In fact, you can have irregular bleeding and spotting for the duration of this implant. So, after you've had the implant placed, if you notice irregular bleeding, don't worry. If you are concerned, you can always call your physician or your nurse practitioner. However, the birth control is still effective despite the bleeding.
Another side effect that patients may be concerned with are headaches. If you do get headaches with this form of birth control, you can take Tylenol and Motrin to relieve them. But if you notice that the headaches are persisting and you're concerned, you can always call your physician or your nurse practitioner to talk about the side effects.

Today board-certified OBGYN Dr. Jennifer Lincoln goes head-to-head in an IUD versus Nexplanon comparison - she talks bleeding, effectiveness, and more. Watch to help you decide which birth control method might be right for you!

#nexplanon #birthcontrol #nexplanonreview #birthcontrolimplant #nexplanonproblems
Birth control is something that seems taboo to talk about but it’s something that needs to be discussed. Doctors keep highly recommending implants and other birth control options that could be effecting our mental health AND physical health. Make sure you fully research a birth control option before deciding to get it. I tried researching the nexplanon before I got it and there were no negative reviews to be found until AFTER it was already in my arm! I really hope this helps someone decide not to get this implant. I wish I could have found a video like this before getting mine. I also forgot to mention in this video that I also experienced fatigue, hair loss, and complete loss of sex drive.
I spoke to my doctor about the sex drive issue and she blew it off completely... saying that’s just what happens after you have a baby.
As I am writing this 5 days after I had the nexplanon removed I can confidently say that the majority of symptoms I was experiencing with the nexplanon have gone away. I am feeling better, more energetic, and happier than I have been in the last 14 months.
Please comment with your experience with the nexplanon or any other birth control to help others decide on what birth control options are best for them.
Let’s start a discussion! Let’s help each other!
