#1 Vitamin to Eliminate Swollen Legs and Ankles
#1 Vitamin to Eliminate Swollen Legs and Ankles Side Effects 1 Views • 16 days ago

Find out about the underlying cause of edema and the key nutrients that can help.

0:00 Introduction: How to reduce swelling in legs, ankles, and feet
0:30 What is edema?
1:44 Edema explained
3:20 High blood sugar and fluid retention
3:55 How to get rid of edema
5:24 Vitamin B1 and edema

Today, we’re going to talk about edema causes and remedies. Swollen legs are often a symptom of edema and are typically blamed on liver, kidney, or heart problems.

Did you know that edema and pitting edema may be able to be fixed without a blood thinner or diuretic?

Water retention in the lower legs is caused by a problem with the sodium-potassium pumps in your cells. If these pumps aren’t working correctly, water retention outside the cells, known as interstitial fluid retention, will occur.

When you have swollen ankles, it’s usually the result of high blood sugar connected to the hemoglobin protein in your blood. This is called glycation, which inhibits the blood cell’s ability to carry nutrition and oxygen throughout the body. Glycated proteins can also block circulation, leading to swollen legs and swollen ankles.

High blood sugar causes sodium retention, which also contributes to water retention. Over time, this can affect the nerves in the bottom of the feet, causing numbness and tingling, known as peripheral neuropathy. Even if you don’t yet have diabetes, edema can be caused by high blood sugar.

To help eliminate edema, you must ensure you’re getting plenty of potassium, which can be difficult to achieve through diet alone. The average person needs 4700 mg of potassium daily! Avocados, salads, and berries can help you meet this requirement.

You also need plenty of magnesium to help eliminate edema. Pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and leafy greens are good sources of magnesium. Aim for 420 mg of magnesium daily. High-quality electrolyte powder without hidden sugars can help increase potassium and magnesium intake.

Vitamin B1 deficiency is likely behind issues with the sodium-potassium pump. For sugar to be turned into usable energy in the body, you need vitamin B1. Consuming too many refined carbohydrates can cause a vitamin B1 deficiency.

Vitamin B1, potassium, and magnesium can help eliminate edema, but you must also eliminate sugar from your diet.

L Theanine 101 | Here is What You NEED to Know about L Theanine
L Theanine 101 | Here is What You NEED to Know about L Theanine Side Effects 1 Views • 16 days ago

L theanine and caffeine. L theanine effect on brain. L theanine sleep. Are you taking l theanine for anxiety. Learn all about theanine for anxiety.

✅ Get L Theanine supplement
https://s.thorne.com/SGElj

What is l theanine

L-theanine is an amino acid found primarily in green and black tea and certain mushrooms and its said to help ease anxiety, stress, and reduce insomnia. It was identified in tea by Japanese scientists in 1949 and while tea is the most common dietary source for L-theanine, this compound is also found in some types of mushrooms. It has a chemical structure very similar to glutamate, a naturally occurring amino acid.

L theanine effect on brain

L-Theanine works by promoting relaxation and sleep by contributing to a number of changes in the brain. Increasing GABA, as well as serotonin and dopamine. Which in turn, tells the brain to regulate emotions, mood, concentration, alertness, and sleep, as well as appetite, energy, and other cognitive skills. Secondly, it may lower excitatory brain chemicals, like glutamate. This may also be a way that L-theanine can protect brain cells against stress and age-related damage.

L theanine benefits

There are 3 possible benefits that come with taking L-Theanine. The 1st: is Improving sleep. Because it can increase relaxation and lower stress, L-theanine can help in sleep in a number of ways. One, is that it can help you fall asleep faster because you get more relaxed. Secondly: L-theanine is sometimes known as an anxiolytic— as it works to reduce anxiety. Some anxiolytic herbs such as valerian have sedative effects. L-theanine, on the other hand, promotes relaxation and stress reduction without sedation. And lastly: Enhancing focus, memory, and learning. Research shows L-theanine can increase attention span and reaction time in people who are prone to anxiety. One study shows that taking L-theanine reduced the number of errors made in a test of attention. Although more research is needed, its exciting to see what comes out of this.

L theanine dosage

In general, it is recommended that you begin with the smallest suggested dose, and gradually increase it. Doses range from 100 mg to 400 mg a day. When its used for cognitive function, you find it used with caffeine, Combination doses have ranged from 30-100 mg of caffeine and 12-100 mg of L-theanine. For anxiety, the Calming effects may last 8 to 10 hours and are usually experienced within 30 minutes after taking L-Theanine at doses between 50 and 200 mg.

L theanine side effects

Most people are unlikely to experience side effects at all when they take L-theanine. Some side effects that have been reported are headaches and sleepiness. On that note, if This product may cause you to be sleepy. Take extra care driving and doing tasks that you need to be alert for.
Also, a specific combination product containing theanine and other green tea ingredients has also been used safely when taken once daily for up to 5 months. On that note, Its not known if theanine is safe when used for longer periods of time than 5 months.

Is L theanine safe?

As for interactions, its best practice to Always consult with your doctor before trying out any new supplement, this is especially true if you have low blood pressure, before you give it to children, pregnant women and if you are breastfeeding, as it may be best to avoid it altogether.
The 2 categories of medicines that it does interact with, are medications used to treat high blood pressure and stimulants. L-theanine may lower blood pressure, and when combining it with other blood-pressure lowering supplements, this may cause blood pressure to drop too much. These include cats claw, coq10, fish oil, l-arginine, to name a few. And Taking theanine along with stimulant medications might decrease the effectiveness of stimulant medications, just something to be aware of.
Overall, l-Theanine is generally well tolerated, . Unlike prescription benzodiazepine medications, l-theanine is not habit-forming as it does not lead to tolerance and dependence when used over long periods of time.

L theanine information

Large well designed placebo-controlled studies on l-theanine are needed before more definitive recommendations can be made about its benefits.

What is Benfotiamine?

Benfotiamine is the synthetic version of thiamine, also known as vitamin B1. And you need your vitamin B1, because its essential for many of the body’s functions. Among the 13 known vitamins, Vitamin B1, happens to be one of the most important ones for diabetics.

Thiamine vs Benfotiamine

Thiamine doesn't raise your b1 levels nearly as much as benfotiamine does. The lab version. That's because benfotiamine is far more bioavailable.

What is the Function of Thiamine? Why is Vitamin B1 Important?

Well, thiamine is essential to help the body produce proteins and fats while helping to metabolize carbohydrates. But interestingly, Thiamine does one of the biggest jobs in the body, it develops the mitochondrial membrane it also is supports the function of the synaptic membrane so that our neurons can communicate with one another.

Is Benfotiamine Better Than Thiamine? What is the Best Vitamin B1?

But the problem is that thiamine is just water soluble, it cant get into the tissues like benfotiamine can. Benfotiamine was created in the 1950s in japan to solve this issue.

Benfotiamine for Non-Diabetic Neuropathy. Using Benfotiamine for Nerve.

Neuropathy from diabetes complications. But also form neuropathy without diabetes can cause a burning, pricking sensation, feeling achy or dull. Even a pins and needle sensation is common too.

AGE's and Neuropathy. How does Benfotiamine Work?

It is reported to reduce the effects of advanced glycated end products, which forms as a result of having too much sugar in your cells. Not to forget to mention a host of other conditions advanced glycated end products or AGE’s can have once your proteins and lipids get glycated.

Benfotiamine for Brain Function.

It is reported to help improve cognition in alzheimer's disease. This is because there are Several neurodegenerative issues which have been associated with diminished activity of thiamine-dependent enzymes.

How Much Benfotiamine? Benfotiamine Dosage

300 mg twice a day is the most common one. But anywhere from 150-600 mg by mouth daily for up to 6 months is what is used as well.

How Common is B1 Deficiency? What Foods Have Thiamine?

Its not that common actually because you can find vitamin b1 in a lot of foods. Raisins, avocados, and jackfruit seem to have a lot. But then again, you have to be aware of what can interfere with it in the body. Now most people would not have this in their diets but from two small studies in Thailand, chewing slices of areca nut wrapped in betel leaves and chewing tea leaves in general reduced food thiamine bioavailability because of the high amounts of tannins and also the The pupae of the African silk worm, which is a traditional food in Nigeria can cause a thiamine deficiency too. Then there are some reports of eating fermented raw fish could lower your thiamine too.

What Causes Low Vitamin B1?

Other factors like being on long term diuretics, bariatric surgery, and alcoholism can all remove thiamine from your body. But always consult with your doctor if you fall into this group before making a decision on thiamine. Its important they know your entire list of supplements your taking so they can help you optimize them to the fullest.

Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)
Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) Side Effects 0 Views • 16 days ago

In this video you'll discover the nootropic benefits of Vitamin B1 (Thiamine). Including why we use Thiamine as a nootropic, recommended dosage, side effects and clinical research.

Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) is the first of the B-Complex vitamins identified. And designated B1 as a result.

Thiamine increases levels of thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP). TPP is directly involved in the citric acid (KREB) cycle in the brain.

This cycle breaks fatty acids, amino acids and monosaccharides from the food you eat into smaller molecules that produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP) energy for your mitochondria. It’s also needed for the synthesis of DNA and RNA.

Thiamine is critical for increasing energy, focus, and preventing memory loss. And can ward off inflammation.

Thiamine also contributes to the production of the enzyme PDH which is essential for making the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
And for the synthesis of myelin, which forms a sheath around axons. Ensuring neurons can conduct signals.

Vitamin B1 is found in lentils, whole grains, pork, red meat, yeast, nuts, sunflower seeds, peas, milk, cauliflower and spinach.

Vitamin B1 is water soluble and is stored in your body for only 14 days. If you don’t get enough B1 you’ll experience irritability, confusion and memory problems.

A severe deficiency can manifest itself as beriberi, pain, heart problems, or even paralysis.

Thiamine defiency is more common than you think. Even when your lab tests show thiamine and thiamine pyrophosphate within range. It's still possible you are dealing with “mild thiamine deficiency”.

Many report thiamine supplementation boosts attention, energy, and motivation. A reduction in brain fog and increased mental clarity with less anxiety.

Those dealing with fibromyalgia and nerve pain report a significant decrease in pain levels.

Neurohackers supplementing with Thiamine or Sulbutiamine report it makes an effective mosquito repellent.

The recommended dosage of Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) according to the American FDA is 1.2 mg per day. Pregnant and breastfeeding women is a whopping 1.4 mg per day.

Many neurohackers would laugh at these recommendations. “Mild thiamine deficiency” affects a significant segment of the population in any country.

Most clinical studies use thiamine doses from 300 up to 1800 mg per day. See the transcript of this video on NootropicsExpert.com for full dosage instructions to treat various health issues.

Most Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) supplements available from online retailers and vitamin shops come as Thiamine hydrochloride (HCl). And come in 50 – 500 mg tablets.

But regular thiamine is not very bioavailable and has problems crossing the blood-brain barrier. As a nootropic, a good alternative to Thiamine is Sulbutiamine for cognitive enhancement.

This indepth Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) review covers:

Dangers of Overdosing on Vitamin B1 thiamine
Dangers of Overdosing on Vitamin B1 thiamine Side Effects 1 Views • 16 days ago

Dangers of Overdosing on Vitamin B1
While vitamin B1 (thiamine) is generally considered safe, excessive intake can have potential risks and side effects. Here are some dangers associated with overdosing on vitamin B1:

1. Limited toxicity: Thiamine has a low potential for toxicity, and overdose cases are rare. The body typically eliminates excess thiamine through urine. However, extremely high doses or prolonged excessive intake may lead to adverse effects.
2. Allergic reactions: In rare cases, individuals may be hypersensitive or allergic to thiamine supplements. Allergic reactions can range from mild skin rashes to severe symptoms such as difficulty breathing, swelling, or anaphylaxis. Immediate medical attention should be sought if any signs of an allergic reaction occur.
3. Digestive disturbances: High doses of thiamine can cause gastrointestinal discomfort, including nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, and an increased risk of acid reflux.
4. Hypotension (low blood pressure): Excessive thiamine supplementation can potentially cause a drop in blood pressure, leading to symptoms such as dizziness, lightheadedness, and fainting.
5. Interference with medication: High doses of thiamine can interact with certain medications, such as diuretics, heart medications, and anticonvulsants. It's important to consult with a healthcare professional to avoid any potential interactions.
6. Imbalance with other B vitamins: Taking excessively high doses of thiamine can disrupt the balance of other B vitamins in the body. This imbalance may interfere with their normal functions and lead to unintended health consequences.
7. Masking underlying conditions: Thiamine overdose can temporarily mask certain medical conditions by improving symptoms related to thiamine deficiency, which may delay proper diagnosis and treatment.

It's important to note that vitamin B1 toxicity is rare and generally occurs with extremely high doses. Adhering to the recommended daily intake guidelines and consulting with a healthcare professional for personalized advice can help prevent the risks associated with vitamin B1 overdosing.

What is benfotiamine?
Benfotiamine is a synthetic B1. Vitamin B1 is naturally water-soluble. Benfotiamine is a fat-soluble B1 vitamin. This is one of the only synthetic vitamins that I like because it has virtually no side-effects.

I believe every diabetic should be taking benfotiamine. Vitamin B1 is involved in the engine in the mitochondria that involves glucose metabolism. The more glucose you have running through the machine, the higher the blood sugar, and the more depleted of vitamin B1 you’re going to become.

With diabetes, there are four main tissues involved, and B1 can help with all of them:

1. Nerves/brain - Neuropathy
2. Eyes - Retina
3. Kidney - Nephron
4. Heart vessels - Microvascular endothelial dysfunction

Benfotiamine:

• 3-5x more absorption
• Protects against oxidation and AGEs
• Decreases A1C
• Protection

When it comes to benfotiamine dosage, consider taking at least 600mg of benfotiamine per day, and you can spread it out. You should also be doing healthy keto and intermittent fasting.

The top 10 common Vitamin B1 deficiency symptoms to watch out for.

Vitamin B1 is an essential water soluble nutrient which is needed to convert foods and sugar into energy at the cellular level, along with protecting the nervous system and the brain against free radical damage.

A deficiency in Vitamin B1 (thiamine) can lead to problems like nerve damage (neuropathy), anxiety, neurological issues, acid reflux and much more.

Unfortunately when we consume refined foods like sugar, flour or rice we deplete out Vitamin b1 reserves, causing us to have less available in our bodies, so it's important to get more of this into your diet from whole food sources and supplement when necessary.

2:20 Thiamine deficiency symptoms
6:50 What to do for vitamin B1 deficiency
7:48 Learn more about vitamin B1!

Today I want to cover the bizarre symptoms of vitamin B1 deficiency.

Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is important for your nerves, and a deficiency in vitamin B1 can impact all parts of your nervous system.

Vitamin B1 is necessary to give energy to a specific cell that makes myelin. Myelin is a coating around your nervous system. If that coating breaks down because of vitamin B1 deficiency, various negative things can start to happen.

Top causes of vitamin B1 deficiency:
• Refined sugar and carbohydrates
• Tea
• Coffee
• Wine
• Dried fruit
• Alcohol
• Raw fish
• Metformin
• Chlorine (tap water)
• Antibiotics
• Antacids
• Diuretics
• Birth control pills
• SSRIs
• Seizure medications
• HPV vaccinations
• Betel nut

Bizarre symptoms of vitamin B1 deficiency:
• Tourette syndrome
• Ataxia
• Obsessive-compulsive disorder
• ADHD
• POTS syndrome
• MS symptoms
• Fibromyalgia symptoms
• Chronic fatigue syndrome
• Peripheral neuropathy

It's important to pinpoint what's causing your thiamine deficiency, so you can start doing something about it. You can also start taking vitamin B1—just be sure it's a natural version. Unfortified nutritional yeast is a great natural source of vitamin B1. If you have a problem related to your myelin sheath, you may also want to take benfotiamine.

12 Strange Signs Your Body Needs More Vitamin B1

Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is a very important nutrient used to convert nutrients into energy in your cells. It's heavily involved with the nervous system and protecting the coating around your nerves against damage.

Less than 1% of the thiamine in your body is stored in your blood, so blood tests won't usually tell you if you are deficient in Vitamin b1 or not, which is why it often gets overlooked by doctors.

For this reason, today we identify 12 common, yet strange signs of a Vitamin B1 deficiency to watch out for including nerve pain, excessive yawning, anxiety, a fast heart rate, acid reflux, swelling, hyperactivity and many others.

I also explain what causes a Vitamin B1 deficiency, and some natural ways to boost your vitamin b1 levels, by using supplements or eating certain foods.

2:11 Comparing natural vs. synthetic vitamins
2:45 Thanks for watching!

In this video, we’re going to talk about synthetic vitamins, specifically vitamin B1. Vitamin B1 is incredibly important, especially when you’re doing keto and intermittent fasting.

Vitamin B1 protects the arteries from damage caused by high sugar and high insulin. It protects the myelin sheath in the nervous system, and can also help relieve the body of stress.

Peripheral neuropathy and other issues with the nervous system are common symptoms of a vitamin B1 deficiency. You can also develop problems in your arteries that can build up to a blood clot. Consuming sugar and refined grains can deplete vitamin B1.

Synthetic B1 is made from coal tar, ammonia, acetone, hydrochloric acid, and other synthetic chemicals. Synthetic B1 typically comes in the form of thiamine mononitrate or thiamine hydrochloride. 85% of the world’s B1 comes from China where it's very cheaply made. You can find this cheap, synthetic vitamin B1 in prenatal vitamins, children’s vitamins, infant formulas, and other standard multivitamins.

Generally speaking, synthetic vitamin B1 is only useful if you’re doing a detoxification or if you’re trying to improve symptoms of peripheral neuropathy. Other than that, there is really no need for a “maintenance dose” of vitamin B1.

Nutritional yeast is one of the best natural sources of B vitamins, especially vitamin B1.

If you’re not sure if a vitamin is natural or synthetic, check the ingredients! Chemical names that don’t come from food are a tell-tale sign of synthetic vitamins.

High-sugar diets can significantly affect your vitamin B1 levels. A vitamin B1 deficiency can cause fluid retention and lactic acid buildup, which can show up as restless legs syndrome. Many complications associated with diabetes type 1 and type 2 are related to vitamin B1 deficiency.

Vitamin B1, or thiamine, supports a healthy nervous system and the process that turns fuel into usable energy in the body.

Here are some of the warning signs of vitamin B1 deficiency:
•Nervous tension
•Irritability
•Restlessness
•Brain fog
•Air hunger
•Numbness on the bottom of feet and/or fingertips

•Confusion
•Low pulse rate
•Personality changes
•Low tolerance to stress

Allithiamine is a fat-soluble natural form of vitamin B1, which easily permeates the cell membrane and the blood-brain barrier. Benfotiamine is a fat-soluble form of vitamin B1 that may be beneficial for people with blood sugar issues.

Pork, beef, organ meats, eggs, fish, and nuts are the best food sources of vitamin B1. Unfortified nutritional yeast is also a good source.
