Can Oxcarbazepine Cause Hair Loss? In this informative video, we discuss the potential side effects of the medication oxcarbazepine, particularly focusing on hair loss. Oxcarbazepine is commonly prescribed for managing specific types of seizures and is sometimes used as an additional treatment for pain relief. While it is effective for these medical conditions, it is essential to be aware of the side effects that may arise during treatment.
Hair loss, also known as alopecia, is one of the possible side effects associated with oxcarbazepine, although it may not be as frequently mentioned as other side effects like dizziness or fatigue. Understanding the implications of medication side effects is important for those taking oxcarbazepine, especially if hair loss becomes a concern.
In this video, we will provide guidance on what to do if you experience changes in your hair while on this medication. We will emphasize the importance of consulting with a healthcare provider to determine the best course of action. Adjustments to your medication or the use of supplements may be considered, but these should always be discussed with a professional.

Does Oxcarbazepine Help Anxiety Attacks? In this informative video, we discuss the potential role of oxcarbazepine in managing anxiety attacks. While primarily known as an anticonvulsant medication for epilepsy, oxcarbazepine is sometimes prescribed off-label for anxiety disorders. We will explore the evidence surrounding its effectiveness, including studies that indicate improvements in anxiety symptoms among patients with various psychiatric diagnoses.
Additionally, we will cover patient experiences and anecdotal reports highlighting the medication's impact on panic attacks. While oxcarbazepine may offer benefits for some individuals, it is essential to understand its classification as an adjuvant analgesic in pain management and its potential mood-stabilizing effects.
We will also clarify that oxcarbazepine is not a first-line treatment for anxiety disorders and discuss the standard treatments available. If you are considering this medication or want to learn more about its implications for anxiety management, it is vital to consult with a healthcare professional for tailored advice.

If you watched my first video then you may remember me talking about the three times I died…Well obviously I didn't, but my interpretation was that since I accepted death three times in the face it, my life is now just a means of helping others have less seizures and emergency room visits. As I like to say "Take control of our lives so we're not simply living between seizures." In this video I'll elaborate and share these experiences in greater detail along with what I learned in terms of seizure prevention each time. Also, I share the story of my diagnosis along with the progression of my condition
And for anyone looking for another way to save lots of money on seizure medication I've included a link to a medicine that has been working well for me.This link takes you to the Vimpat website, where your co-pay can be reduced by a ton. About 60% or more. I walk you through it too(It's so easy). Of course talk to your doctor about this medicine. I used to be on a lot of Trileptal And I was always drowsy and low on energy. Eventually I went down on Trileptal and added this medicine, now I have way more energy and more tolerable side effects.

A: Trileptal, otherwise known as oxcarbazepine is one of the newer anti-seizure medications. It's based off an old medication, carbamazepine or Tegretol, as you probably heard in the past. It's another fast sodium channel drug and very good for seizures with partial-complex seizures.
B: Seizures that start in one area of the brain and spread. It's well tolerated with fewer side effects than Tegretol or Carbatrol, which it's derived from. The biggest issue with that, the biggest side effect is, you can get some drowsiness when you start taking it. That usually goes away within a week or so.
B: You start the dose slowly and gradually increase it so there are fewer side effects. There is a risk of an allergic reaction, as there is with any medication. This presents, usually, as a red rash all over the trunk and chest. If that happens, just stop the medication. Take Benadryl, and then, slowly increase it again. There is the most sodium issues, but more in adults than in children.
A: It's also called an enzyme inducer. You have to watch what medications you mix this with, because it could affect how the other medications perform. When you start the medication, you might have to increase the dose after a few weeks, to adjust for how the liver is metabolizing it. It's a medication that you need to watch what you're using it with, and watch those rare side affects.
B: It can also decrease the efficacy of birth control pills. You need to be careful if you're on birth control pills, that you use some other means of contraception.
A: Trileptal or oxcarbazepine is a first line indicated drug, very good for partial-complex seizures, not to be used in generalized epilepsy, with very few side effects and very well tolerated.
