Breztri vs Trelegy Ellipta – Don’t Get Them Mixed Up

Breztri Aerosphere
• Ingredients: Budesonide (ICS) + Glycopyrrolate (LAMA) + Formoterol (LABA)
• Device: Pressurized metered-dose inhaler (pMDI) — shake before use
• Indication: COPD (not FDA-approved for asthma in the U.S.)
• Dose: 2 puffs twice daily

Trelegy Ellipta
• Ingredients: Fluticasone furoate (ICS) + Umeclidinium (LAMA) + Vilanterol (LABA)
• Device: Dry powder inhaler (DPI) — breath-activated, no shaking
• Indication: COPD and asthma (some strengths for asthma)
• Dose: 1 inhalation once daily

Key Differences to Prevent Mix-Ups
• Device type: Breztri = MDI (press and inhale), Trelegy = DPI (inhale fast and deep)
• Frequency: Breztri = 2× daily, Trelegy = 1× daily
• Approved use: Trelegy has asthma approval; Breztri doesn’t (in U.S.)
• Appearance: Breztri = canister in inhaler body, Trelegy = flat rectangular device with cover

⚠️ Why it matters:
📌Mixing them up can cause wrong dosing, under-treatment, or overdosing. Always check the name and directions on your prescription before use.

📌 Gargle 💦 water after both Breztri and Trelegy.
