Fatal Side Effects
Side Effects of the Use of Pradaxa, A Blood Thinner - New York Attorney Dan Burke explains more at: https://www.yourlawyer.com/def....ective-drug-attorney
Watch as attorney Dan Burke of Parker Waichman discusses how the prescription drug Pradaxa poses a serious risk to you or your loved one.
Pradaxa is a blood thinner and is designed to help prevent blood clots in patients who are susceptible to heart issues. Pradaxa was touted as a safer version and more compatible with different types of food then comparable drugs like Coumadin. The risk of either of these drugs is a bleeding event. This could mean gastro-intestinal bleeds, bleeding behind the eyes, bleeding on the brain, and cerebral or cranial hemorrhaging. While both medications carry these risks, traditional blood thinners have antidotes that stop the bleeding quicker. Pradaxa has no known effective antidote. The drug stays in the body nearly 12 hours, making it very difficult -- if not impossible -- to stop a bleeding event. The drug lends itself to being risky for bleeds with even minor injuries. Dialysis seems to be the only thing that is helpful in these situations when the bleeding won't stop, but it comes with its own risks. The procedure can take hours as the drug is cleared out of the system through the kidneys. Watch the video now to learn more.

In this video we will cover everything you need to know about Fluoxetine, also known as Prozac. This video is part of a video series on mental health problems. So for more mental health related videos check out this playlist:
https://www.youtube.com/playli....st?list=PLaG3Bo3L0gX
Generic name: Fluoxetine.
Brand names: Prozac, Sarafem, Rapiflux and Selfemra.
Available as capsules and desolving tablets.
How to use it?
Capsules: Swallow the capsule completely with half a glass of water.
Dissolving tablets: Allow the tablet to disintegrate in water. Stir the water and drink it. Afterwards rinse the glass with water and drink that too.
Duration of treatment:
Furthermore if Fluoxetine has no effect within 6-12 weeks, it is probably not effective for you. However if it is effective, you should usually keep using it for 6 months up to several years.
When to use it?
Fluoxetine is part of a group of drugs called Specific Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitor (SSRI). It selectively inhibits the serotonin uptake in your brain. Fluoxetine can be used to treat several mental health conditions.
In adults it is used to treat:
- Depression.
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
- Bulimia nervosa.
In children ≥ 8 years, it can be used to treat:
- Severe depression. This is always done in combination with psychotherapy.
What is the correct dosage?
Unfortunately I can’t provide you with guidelines for the correct dosages, as these differ a lot depending on the specific indication, the side effects you experience and the severity of your complaints. Therefore always use the prescribed dose and frequency your doctor gave you.
However the usual dose most doctors prescribe for an adult will be 20mg a day, which if necessary can be gradually increased over a period of several weeks to months up to a dose of 60mg a day.
In children older than 8 years, the usual starting dose is 10mg a day. This can ultimately be increased to 20mg a day if necessary.
What are the side-effects?
Very common (10%): nausea, diarrhea, insomnia, headache and fatigue.
Often (1-10%); decreased appetite, anxiety, nervousness, restlessness, decreased libido, sleep disorder, abnormal dreams, difficulty concentrating, dizziness, drowsiness, tremor, blurred vision, palpitations, yawning, vomiting, dry mouth, itching, rash, hives, frequent peeing, erectile dysfunction, cold and weight loss.
Uncommon (0.1-1%): suicidal behavior, depersonalization, mood change, abnormal orgasm, memory impairment, tinnitus, difficulty swallowing, low blood pressure, gastrointestinal bleeding, cold sweat, muscle twitching, erectile dysfunction, malaise and changes in your blood values.
Safety:
You should be careful to combine Fluoxetine with alcohol. As this might increase the dazing effect of this drug.
In addition it is usually safe to drive while using Fluoxetine, however it can cause you to become drowsy, sleepy and/or dizzy. If you experiencing any of these side effects then please do not drive.
Furthermore, Fluoxetine can have interactions with several drugs. Therefore always discuss this with your treating physician.
Pregnancy and Lactation:
Fluoxetine can be dangerous in both cases, however there are some exceptions. Therefore always discuss this with your doctor.

Prozac or Fluoxetine is a medication that is used to treat mostly Depression but can also be used to treat Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and a severe form of PMS called PMDD . Get a Doctors perspective and learn the symptoms of depression and anxiety and how this medication can play a role in you treating it. You'll learn about both common and some of the more rare side effects that you should watch out for.
Prozac (Fluoxetine) is in the family of medications called Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI). They influence the amount of Serotonin that is available to help with mood and other functions of the body.
With depression you tend to have symptoms like difficulty concentrating, remembering things or making decisions. Fatigue, feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness or hopelessness. People experience sleeping problems, mood swings, a loss of interest in things that you once enjoyed, appetite changes, generalized pain, persistent sad or empty feelings and even suicidal thoughts or attempts.
Those who are going through anxiety you may have symptoms such as sudden and unexplained onset of a rapid heart rate, sweating, trembling, shortness of breath, pain in your chest, fear of dying, numbness and tingling throughout your body or just a generalized feeling of anxiousness all the time that you just can’t explain.
If you are experiencing these symptoms you need to seek help from a professional. Go see your doctor and get an accurate diagnosis to figure out a good treatment plan for you. Remember depression and anxiety are real medical conditions and should be treated just as diabetes or high blood pressure need to be treated. You shouldn’t feel any different treating any one of these medical conditions.
We'll give a good overview in the video of the common side effects but its important to remember that most side effects if any are transient and can be minimized by working with your doctor. We will discuss more concerning side effects such as serotonin syndrome as well.

30:32 Questions
Duloxetine (Cymbalta) is a relatively balanced serotonin/norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI), approved for depression, fibromyalgia, and a number of chronic pain syndromes. It is used off label for ADHD. Only a few studies support its efficacy in treating ADHD in children and adults.
Other relatively pure norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (atomoxetine/Strattera), and SNRI (venlafaxine/Effexor, milnacipran/Savella/Fetzima, tricyclic antidepressants) have been shown to reduce both inattentive and hyperactive/impulsive symptoms of ADHD.
I tend to use far more duloxetine for treating ADHD than these other options, because the side effects of duloxetine tend to be more tolerable, predictable, and safer than those with the other SNRI AND NRI. This is a generalization, and there are certainly individuals who do not have good responses to duloxetine or have great responses to these other agents.
Overdoses (which can be fatal) with tricyclics can occur at doses only slightly above the therapeutic range; most individuals have constipation, weight gain, lethargy, and cardiac side effects from this class of drugs. Venlafaxine often creates withdrawal effects with missed doses, and its norepinephrine action is relatively weak. Side effects with atomoxetine tend to be less predictable than those from duloxetine, and most individuals need to titrate upwards for weeks before reaching effective doses. In the US, milnacipran is not available as a generic, making prohibitively expensive for many.

Many people are prescribed the antidepressant Cymbalta (duloxetine) to treat conditions like major depression, generalized anxiety disorder, fibromyalgia, and neuropathic pain. However, there may come a time when you need to stop taking Cymbalta.
Withdrawing from Cymbalta can cause uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms like headaches, dizziness, nausea, insomnia, irritability and more. In this video, we explain what Cymbalta withdrawal is and provide tips for managing the withdrawal process safely.
Cymbalta is an SNRI that impacts serotonin and norepinephrine levels in the brain. It has a relatively short half-life of 12 hours, meaning withdrawal symptoms can start soon after stopping the medication. Tapering off Cymbalta slowly under medical supervision over 4+ weeks is recommended to minimize severe withdrawal effects.
Self-care strategies like over-the-counter medications, support systems, rest and distraction can all help cope with Cymbalta discontinuation side effects during the withdrawal period.
If you're struggling with Cymbalta withdrawal and need new depression, anxiety or chronic pain treatment, Lightfully Behavioral Health offers evidence-based residential, virtual intensive outpatient, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs to guide your journey to better mental health without Cymbalta.
Change is possible through comprehensive, personalized care. Reach out today to begin your path forward after antidepressant withdrawal.

I want to talk to you today about Cymbalta, that’s Duloxetine. So what is Cymbalta good for? It is used to treat depression and anxiety, and right now, seems to be the flavor of the month and the most popular treatment for pain.
The issue is there are high doses being prescribed and Cymbalta can have side effects in elderly. In high doses Cymbalta can make people angry, paranoid, and not sleep, unfortunately, they attribute that behavior to depression or dementia, and then they give more - which is the exact opposite of what needs to happen.

How to Discontinue Cymbalta Safely
Cymbalta (duloxetine) is a medication that is usually given to treat issues of depression. Regardless of the reason for being prescribed Cymbalta, it’s important that when an individual decides to discontinue any medication, they are also incorporating an alternative treatment to address any underlying issues.
Cymbalta brain zaps, dizziness, nausea, brain zaps, and fatigue are other commonly reported Cymbalta withdrawal effects. Cymbalta withdrawal may be experienced either when attempting to discontinue Cymbalta or, in some cases, in between doses — known as interdose withdrawal. Interdose-withdrawal most commonly occurs where drugs have a relatively short half-life, and withdrawal symptoms can emerge some hours after a dose is taken.
So many people have been negatively affected by quitting Cymbalta that the term Cymbalta Discontinuation Syndrome is used commonly to classify the symptoms associated with withdrawal. If the symptoms become too much to handle at home, many attend healing centers for Cymbalta withdrawal.
Cymbalta is an SNRI (serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor). For those who are reliant on Cymbalta long-term, the possibility of a serotonin deficiency exists. In order to effectively treat any long-term effects of Cymbalta, focusing on potential underlying causes is important. Reviewing potential underlying causes with a specialist can also help to ensure the treatment plan is accurate to address individual needs and characteristics.
An investigation to determine any underlying causes that may be contributing to an individual’s symptoms should include questions such as:
Have hormones and nutritional elements been tested for deficiencies?
Has the diet been upgraded sufficiently?
Have alcohol and recreational drugs been ruled out or discontinued?
Have food allergies been tested for that could be causing psychiatric or physical symptoms?
Has situational stress contributed to symptoms? Has counseling such as CBT been utilized?
Is there an accumulation of neurotoxins, such as heavy metals, which are contributing to symptoms such as anxiety, psychosis, or depression?
By reviewing factors such as these and others, with a professional, the individual is able to pinpoint and resolve or eliminate many obstacles to wellness.

Is there a benefit of taking cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) and naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn) together? Is there an increased risk of side effects? Those questions are covered in the quick video.
Taking naproxen (NSAID) together with cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxer) may help some people recover quicker. Drowsiness is still a concern, however no major interactions between the two medications have been noted.
