In this video I'm going to share some of the major side effects of the drug symbicort and I'm going to share a few better options.
Breathing is important right? Symicort does help someone breath by reducing inflammation in the airways. It's commonly prescribed to people with asthma or lung disease.
If you don't have insurance this inhaler is going to cost around $300, which is expensive. It lasts about 30 days if you take 2 puffs a day.
The main ingredient in this drug is Formoterol.
Researchers from Cornell and Stanford universities have looked at 19 trials with over 33 thousand patients and have concluded that the ingredient in this drug called Foroterol may be causing 4 out of 5 U.S. Asthma related deaths per year and should be taken off the market.
You might be wondering how does this ingredient kill. The answer is according to the researchers is that the medication relieves asthma symptoms, however it promotes inflammation without warning.
Almost like they relieve the symptoms for the short term, but make them worse overall.
I'll share just 1 study and that is researchers found that 53 of 3,083 patients inhaling this ingredient were hospitalized for an asthma attack, compared with 12 of 2,008 patients who received a placebo.
Let's talk about some of the most common side effects and that would be headache, throat irritation, nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, diarrhea, back pain, stuffy nose, muscle or joint pain, or changes in your voice.
Of course there are many other side effects that you could experience depending on how your body reacts to the drug.
At this point you might be wondering if there are better options. I would highly encourage you to look at bee pollen for allergies. According to the “Journal of Allergy” 78% of asthma patients averaged a 75% improvement after taking bee pollen. Another great idea that is often overlooked is vitamin D, which you can get in a multivitamin.
In the September issue of the “Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology” researchers reviewed nearly 60 years' worth of literature on vitamin D with asthma. They found that a vitamin D deficiency is linked to increased airway reactivity, lower lung functions, and worse asthma control.

How to use the pressurized MDI Symbicort inhaler. This inhaler contains budesonide (an inhaled corticosteroid) and formoterol (a bronchodilator).
This is a version of the Symbicort turbuhaler, but instead of containing dry powder, it produces an aerosol spray which can be inhaled in a similar manner to typical "blue" inhalers, such as Ventolin.

Can vitamins like folic acid actually improve erection? What do you think?
Folic acid:
Folic acid is an essential vitamin for our health. It is especially beneficial in pregnancy. Getting enough folate during pregnancy is particularly important. It is crucial for early fetal development, particularly with regard to the spinal cord.
It also helps the body make healthy new red blood cells. But how is it going to help in Erectile dysfunction?
The researchers found that men with erectile dysfunction typically had lower levels of folic acid than healthy, unaffected men.
Interestingly, low levels of folic acid were also associated with premature ejaculation.
Another important thing is homocysteine. It is an amino acid. A high level of homocysteine in our body is responsible for cardiovascular disease and Endothelial damage. Endothelial cells are the main type of cells found in the inside lining of blood vessels. They are the main source of NO in our body. Increase homocysteine level damage the endothelial lining and decrease the production of NO.
NO is very important for a successful erection. Low level of folic acid in our blood is responsible for high levels of homocysteine. So taking folic acid or folate can reduce the homocysteine level and fix the erection problem
Previously multiple studies had been conducted on that topic. However, the result was inconclusive. Some studies showed a direct relation between folic acid deficiency and ED but some studies showed there is no relation.
But a recent meta‐analysis of 6 studies compared 982 men with ED and 860 healthy men without ED. They showed a direct correlation between low level of folic acid and severity of ED. Lower the level of folic acid higher the severity of erectile dysfunction.
In this study, men with ED showed measurable improvements in erectile health after taking a folic acid supplement on a daily basis for three months.
Another study was conducted on 83 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and ED. They were randomly divided into two groups. Group A was treated with tadalafil 10 mg every other day plus folic acid 5 mg daily and group B received tadalafil 10 mg every other day with placebo pills daily for 3 months.
They have shown a significant improvement in patients who have taken both tadalafil and folic acid.
So, should you start taking a folic acid supplement?
Currently there is no standard guideline to take folic acid supplements, and also there are certain medications which shouldn’t be taken with folic acid like anti-seizure medicines, Barbiturates and some cancer medicines.
So it is better to consult with a healthcare professional or go for natural options.
found in a wide range of foods, including the following:
Leafy green vegetables, such as broccoli, spinach, asparagus and lettuce
Meats, including liver
Peanuts, sunflower seeds and beans
Seafood
Eggs
Milk and other dairy products
Folic acid is also commonly added to many breads, cereals, pastas and other grain products in order to prevent deficiencies.
But the best way to prevent erectile dysfunction is to manage your stress, sleep well, eat a healthy diet and exercise daily. It will improve the overall scenario.

▪️ Folic acid, also known as folate or vitamin B9. it is used to treat folate deficiency, related to alcoholism or digestive disorders. It is also used as a supplement during pregnancy to prevent certain birth defects. Folate is the natural form of vitamin B9.
▪️ Folic acid is essential for the formation of DNA and RNA, and regulation of protein metabolism. Folate is also a crucial component, in the formation of red blood cells. Folinic acid, also called leucovorin, is the active coenzyme of folic acid, which is used for the rescue of normal cells, while treating cancer, with a higher dose of methotrexate. Folinic acid is also used, to enhance the anti-cancer efficacy of 5fluoro uracil.
▪️ The side effects of folic acid are rare, but may include, nausea, loss of appetite, bloating, sour taste in the mouth, or allergic reaction. Primary result of folic acid deficiency, is megaloblastic anemia. Folic acid is rapidly absorbed in the jejunum, unless abnormal pathology is present. Oral folic acid administration is nontoxic, and at high doses, excess vitamin is excreted in the urine. Rare hypersensitivity reactions, to parenteral injections have been reported.

5:53 Learn more about vitamin B12!
Today I’m going to cover folic acid and folate. Are they the same? No, they’re not—and we’re going to talk about why.
Folic acid is the synthetic version of vitamin B9, and folate is the natural version.
Many pregnant women take a supplement that contains folic acid because data shows that it can help prevent neural tube defects. But many people are finding that they have a genetic mutation related to B9, which means there could be a problem if they take folic acid.
This genetic mutation involves an enzyme responsible for converting folic acid into an active form so your body can use it. People with this mutation need more vitamin B9 than usual, but it’s also important that they don’t have too much.
For example, one of the top benefits of vitamin B9 is that it protects against the initiation of cancer. However, excess vitamin B9 is also involved in the initiation of new cancer cells.
The solution is to take a version of vitamin B9 that doesn’t require an enzyme to be converted—making this genetic mutation not a problem anymore.
What we need is more methylfolate. Methylfolate is a type of vitamin B9 that’s easily absorbed and doesn’t require other enzyme reactions like synthetic folic acid does.
Overall, it’s essential to avoid products that contain folic acid and consume more foods that contain natural folate. The best source of natural B9 is dark leafy green vegetables.

Be sure you’re getting enough folate (B9) to avoid a vitamin B9 deficiency.
Timestamps:
0:00 Take folate instead of folic acid: Here’s why
0:42 Vitamin B9 deficiencies are common
1:28 A B9 deficiency can cause these major health problems
In this video, I explain the importance of vitamin B9. There are a couple of different versions. One is folate and one is folic acid. I recommend folate because it’s the natural version, whereas folic acid is synthetic.
Vitamin B9 is important in chemical reactions in your body, especially turning genes on or off, as well as DNA repair. You could end up with a lot of body issues if you have a B9 deficiency.
B9 deficiencies are common. The enzyme methylfolate, which converts folate or folic acid to its active form, often causes gene mutations on the MTHFR gene in different groups of people. Some mutations cause no problems; others cause huge issues with the absorption of folate or folic acid. In fact, thirty to fifty percent of the population has some form of these mutations; out of this population, people have varying abilities to absorb folate.
B9 deficiency can cause the following:
● High homocysteine, increasing your risk of stroke, heart attack, or hearing loss
● Increased risk of cancer
● Increased risk of heart disease
● Infertility
● Migraines
● Depression
● Can’t detox
● Problems with neurotransmitters
If you’re taking or exposed to folic acid, the synthetic version, and you have a problem with the mutated gene MTHFR, you could develop health problems.
You might be exposed to folic acid if you’re eating grains that have been fortified with it or if it is in the vitamins you’re taking.
You get folate from dark leafy greens; also from organ meats, although very few people consume them, let alone eat enough vegetables.
If you want to know if you have trouble with the MTHFR gene, take the 23 and Me test online. If you have a problem, then you want to take the version of B9 called methylfolate. It’s easy to find. Also, take a high-quality B12 too, called methylcobalamin. Avoid the synthetic variety.
You can tell why getting enough folate is important to prevent a B9 deficiency.

Thanks for watching!
Maybe you are pregnant, you have a deficiency or you are using the drug methotrexate. Then it might be that your doctor has prescribed you folic acid.
In this video we will cover how and when to use it, what side effects it can cause, and much more.
This video is part of a videoseries on sex and urinal tract related medical problem. Find the playlists here: https://www.youtube.com/playli....st?list=PLaG3Bo3L0gX
Generic name: Folic Acid.
Brand names: it is not known under a brandname.
Available as: tablet.
How to use it?
- Tablet; Just swallow it with half a glass of water.
It is best to do so at fixed times. This will make you less likely to forget a dose.
When to use it?
Folic acid is converted to tetrahydrofolic acid in the gut and liver. This plays an important role in the production of various building materials in the body and the production of red blood cells.
Therefore folic acid can be used to treat:
- Anemia caused due to folic acid deficiency.
- Preventatively in people with resorption disorders or chronic alcoholism.
- Preventatively before or during a pregnancy, to reduce the chance of neural tube defects in the fetus.
- Reduce the side effects of Methotrexate.
What is the correct dosage?
The precise dose will depend on your specific indication of use, the side effect you might experience and the severity of your symptoms. Therefore always use the precise amount and frequency your doctor prescribed you.
- However, when using folic acid to treat a deficiency your doctor might prescribe an initial dose of 0.5–1 mg per day. After disappearance of the symptoms: the maintenance dose might be lowered to 0.25–0.5 mg per day.
- When prescribing it for women who want to become pregnant. Your doctor might prescribe a dose of 0.4–0.5 mg per day, from at least 4 weeks before to at least 8 weeks after conception.
What are the side-effects?
The following side effects are seen when using aspirin as a painkiller:
- Rare (0.01–0.1%): hypersensitivity reactions, fever and rash.
- Very rare (0.01%): gastrointestinal complaints, sleep disorder, depression and irritability.
Safety:
- Folic acid is safe to use while driving or drinking alcohol.
- However, it can cause interactions with other drugs you might be taking. Therefore always discuss this with your personal doctor.

Dr. Pagnani of Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates discusses that for the treatment of OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) sometimes augmenting a primary medication with a second medication can be effective at controlling symptoms. Traditionally, clomipramine (a tricyclic antidepressant or TCA) has been added to luvox (fluvoxamine, an SSRI) for some patients with treatment resistant OCD. With that said, these medications can result in significant side effects and it is important to always be under the care of a mental health professional familiar with this type of treatment, when considering these types of options.
Dr. Pagnani is the founder and medical director of Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates, an Instructor at The Johns Hopkins Hospital for the Department of Psychiatry, he supervises psychiatric residents at Jefferson Hospital, he serves on the Young Professional Board of Uplift, the Center for Grieving Children and he maintains a private practice of Psychiatry in Philadelphia where he sees patients for one-time psychiatric evaluations and second opinions. He is a licensed physician and surgeon in NJ, PA, NY, MD, DE, FL and CA and can provide consultations to individuals via HIPAA compliant Telehealth visits living in these locations.
Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates is a private practice of psychiatry consisting of about 25 psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and psychotherapists with physical locations in Philadelphia and Paoli, PA and serving all of PA, NJ, NY and FL virtually via HIPAA compliant tele-psychiatry. Individuals seeking not only evaluations but long-term psychiatric care, can contact Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates directly.
These videos aim to increase awareness and discussion of mental health topics and to encourage struggling individuals to schedule an appointment directly with a mental health provider. Mental health needs to be normalized, and simply speaking about mental health topics openly, is an important first step.
Dr. Pagnani and Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates are NOT advocating for or against the use of any mentioned psychiatric medications for any specific individual. Additionally, any side effects mentioned are not a complete list of potential side effects or contraindications to taking any mentioned medications, and all risks and benefits of a medication should be discussed with an individual’s provider at an appointment, before starting, stopping or making changes to a medication regimen.
