Fluticasone (FLONASE) Nasal Spray | Uses, Directions, & WHEN TO STOP! | Dr. Eilbra Younan
Fluticasone (FLONASE) Nasal Spray | Uses, Directions, & WHEN TO STOP! | Dr. Eilbra Younan Side Effects 4 Views • 5 months ago

Fluticasone is an intranasal corticosteroid that treats allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and runny or stuffy nose. It works by decreasing inflammation in the nose, making it easier to breathe.

Fluticasone is the generic name for this nasal spray and is also available under the brand name Flonase. Interestingly, both versions are available over-the-counter (OTC). However, if you prefer your insurance to cover it, you'll need a prescription for the generic name, Fluticasone.
*Keep in mind: there's no difference between the prescription and OTC products; it's just a matter of insurance coverage.

Before using: shake the bottle gently (or rub the bottle between your hands) and then remove the dust cover. It is necessary to prime the pump into the air the first time it is used, or when you have not used if for a week or more. To prime the pump, hold the bottle with the nasal applicator pointing away from you and press down and release the pump 6 times into the air. This gives you the assurance that the pump is working and is now ready for use.

Using the spray: first and foremost, blow your nose. Close one nostril, and tilt your head forward slightly. Next, insert the nasal applicator into the other nostril. Spray into the nostril, and then start slowly breathing in through your nose and breath out through your mouth.

*Directions: Use 2 sprays in each nostril daily (Adults); 1 spray in each nostril daily (Pediatrics Ages 4-17 years old).

When finished, wipe the nasal applicator with a clean tissue or napkin and replace with dust cover. Do not blow your nose right after using the nasal spray.

Like any medication, Fluticasone nasal spray may come with some side effects, including headache, dryness, stinging, burning, or irritation in the nose, and more severe ones like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and dizziness. If you experience any of these, it's crucial to consult your healthcare provider immediately.

Remember, this nasal spray can provide significant relief from allergy symptoms, but it's essential to use it as directed and to know when it's appropriate to discontinue use.

Side effects of inhalers like Seretide Diskus
Side effects of inhalers like Seretide Diskus Side Effects 2 Views • 5 months ago

Another question about Seretide is what are the side effects? As with most inhalers, Seretide Diskus has very few side effects which many times also result from taking the inhaler incorrectly (poor inhaler technique). Most inhalers actually are very safe, with very rare adverse effects due to the low amount of medication they contain. Because the medication directly reaches the airways where it needs to act, you don't require a lot of it to control potentially severe conditions.

Fluticasone Side Effects with 3 Other Remedy Options!
Fluticasone Side Effects with 3 Other Remedy Options! Side Effects 3 Views • 5 months ago

Click on the link below for a free video guide to dietary supplements and alternative medicine!

http://utahtexans.com/

In this video I want to share with you the main fluticasone side effects, what it's used for as well as few other choices when it comes to alternative medicine.

Fluticasone is used for nasal congestion and allergies. This could be like a stuffy nose, a runny nose, sneezing as well as helping with eye symptoms such as itchy, watery eyes.

The most common side effects would be a bloody nose. So be aware of that.

Nausea, vomiting, sneezing, a sore throat, headaches, muscle aches could happen as a side effect.

Some of the worst side effects would be a loss of interest in sex, that is a deal breaker for me. Also it may suppress the immune system and make it weaker. This makes sense because congestion is your immune system working to protect you. Artificially messing with it makes it easier for germs, viruses and bacteria to harm your boy.

Another side effect is that it can slow healing. You may think oh that is no big deal I got tons of band-aids, but think about when you exercise or go to the gym your muscles have to heal. Your body needs to heal itself, and some say sleep is the ultimate medicien because that is when your body needs to heal itself.

It can also slow the growth of children. So if you are a child don't take this medicine. The effects are not know for women who are pregnant, so don't take it if your pregnant.

This nasal spray can cause glaucoma or cataracts which damages vision. If you already have an issue with vision they can make them worse.

If you are looking for natural relief for allergies you can try omega 3 believe it or not. It seems no matter what health problem you have omega 3 seems to help.

A German study published in the journal Allergy found people who have diets rich in of omega-3 fatty acids suffer from fewer allergy symptoms.

Next take a quality multi-vitamin. One that doesn't use fake synthetic ingredients but the real stuff. A study in the publication “Annals of Allergy and Annals, researchers proved that an intake of 4000 IU of vitamin D improved allergy symptoms by 30% in one week and up to 40% over the course of 12 weeks.

Also believe it or not spicy foods like peppers or horseradish acts as a nasal decongestant. In a study in the 2011 edition of Annals of Allergy & Asthma showed that the group that took the chili peppers reported a faster onset of relief than the control group who took a placebo.

How to use STEROID NASAL SPRAY MEDICATION | Doctor demonstrates... plus side effects
How to use STEROID NASAL SPRAY MEDICATION | Doctor demonstrates... plus side effects Side Effects 1 Views • 5 months ago

In this video Doctor O'Donovan demonstrates how to use NASAL STEROID MEDICATION. This is a commonly prescribed medication used to treat a range of conditions, including hay fever, sinusitis, non-allergic rhinitis and nasal polyps.

Common examples of steroid nasal sprays include:

- beclometasone
- budesonide
- fluticasone
- mometasone

In this video you see a practical demonstration and step-by-step guide of how to use a steroid nasal spray. Doctor O'Donovan also covers how to store the medication and clean your steroid nasal spray, plus side effects.

What are potential SIDE EFFECTS of steroid nasal sprays?

According to the NHS UK: Steroid nasal sprays do not usually cause any significant side effects if used correctly and at normal doses.

Side effects can include:

- a stinging or burning sensation in the nose
- dryness and crustiness in the nose
- a dry, irritated throat
- an unpleasant taste in the mouth
- itchiness, redness and swelling in the nose
- nosebleeds

Serious side effects are rare but can include changes to your eyesight, such as blurred vision or a cloudy lens in the eye, or problems with your breathing. See a doctor or contact 111 straight away if you have these.

If you're taking a high dose for a long time, there's also a small chance you could get some of the side effects of steroid tablets, such as increased appetite, mood changes and sleeping problems (insomnia).

HOW DO STEROID NASAL SPRAYS WORK?

Steroids closely copy the effects of hormones normally produced by the adrenal glands, which are 2 small glands above the kidneys. When sprayed into the nose, steroids reduce inflammation (swelling).

This can help relieve symptoms such as sneezing and a runny or blocked nose. It can also help to reduce the size of any swellings (such as polyps in your nose.

Steroid nasal sprays are not the same as anabolic steroids, which are often used illegally by some people to increase their muscle mass.

WHAT ARE THE NAMES OF SOME STEROID NASAL SPRAYS?

Beconase, Beconase AQ, Flonase, Nasacort, Nasalide, Nasarel, Nasonex, Omnaris, Rhinocort, Tri-Nasal, Vancenase, Vancenase AQ, Vancenase AQ Double Strength, Veramyst, Xhance, Zetonna, Beconase AQ + many more.

The inhaler contains a combination of 3 medicines fluticasone, umeclidinium, and vilanterol.

Fluticasone is a steroid that prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. Umeclidinium is an anticholinergic. Vilanterol is a long-acting bronchodilator.

These medications work by relaxing muscles in the airways to improve breathing.

This inhaler is not for use in treating an asthma attack or bronchospasm attack.

Vilanterol, when used alone, may increase the risk of death in people with asthma. However, this risk is not increased when vilanterol is used in a combination product with fluticasone and umeclidinium.

Common side effects may include cold or flu symptoms such as runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, chest tightness, a lung infection, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, joint pain, headache, back pain, mouth sores, hoarse voice, mouth pain, changes in your sense of taste.

Fluticasone or Flonase Medication Information (dosing, side effects, patient counseling)
Fluticasone or Flonase Medication Information (dosing, side effects, patient counseling) Side Effects 2 Views • 5 months ago

Your medication Fluticasone

Fluticasone is also known by the brand name: Flonase.
Fluticasone comes in a 16 gm bottle that contains 120 sprays. This medication is also available as an over the counter product in different sized bottles.
Fluticasone is most commonly used for allergy symptoms. Fluticasone is always used in the nose. Do not take this drug by mouth. You will need to prime the pump by spraying the nasal spray into the air until you see a fine mist come out. Close one nostril off by placing your finger on top of it while you spray into the other nasal cavity. Breathe in through the nose while you press down once to release spray, and then breathe out from your mouth.
Standard dosing of fluticasone ranges from 1 spray in each nostril once daily up to 2 sprays in each nostril once daily.
If you miss a dose of fluticasone:
• Use a missed dose as soon as you think about it.
• If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time.
• Do not use 2 doses at the same time or extra doses.

One common side effect with fluticasone is headache.
Some less common side effects include dizziness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
When taking fluticasone, remember it is important to tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have:
• Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever
• Bad nose irritation
• Nose sores
• Bad nosebleeds
• Change in eyesight
• Nose discharge that is not normal
• Crusting in the nose
• Runny nose

The best way to store fluticasone:
• Store at room temperature. Throw away any part not used after labeled number of doses are used.
• Store upright with the cap on.
• Keep all drugs in a safe place. Keep all drugs out of the reach of children and pets.
• Check with your pharmacist about how to throw out unused drugs.

Does Flomax Lower Blood Pressure? - Cardiology Community Side Effects 3 Views • 5 months ago

Does Flomax Lower Blood Pressure? In this informative video, we will discuss the effects of Flomax on blood pressure. Flomax, or tamsulosin, is primarily prescribed for men dealing with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), which involves an enlarged prostate. While this medication is effective in relaxing bladder and prostate muscles to ease urination, many may have concerns regarding its impact on blood pressure levels.

We will cover the potential side effects associated with Flomax, particularly focusing on orthostatic hypotension, which can occur when transitioning from sitting or lying down to standing. This condition may lead to dizziness or lightheadedness, especially when starting the medication or adjusting the dosage.

Additionally, we will explore the interactions of Flomax with other medications, especially blood pressure medications and PDE-5 inhibitors. Understanding how these interactions can affect your health is essential for anyone considering or currently taking Flomax.
