How To Take Finasteride (Propecia) Without Side Effects
How To Take Finasteride (Propecia) Without Side Effects Side Effects 3 Views • 5 months ago

One of the best FDA-approved hair loss medications on the market to slow down male pattern baldness is finasteride, also known as Propecia. Finasteride works by blocking testosterone from converting into DHT. Studies show that up to 86% of people using 1mg of finasteride daily did not experience any more hair loss since the start of the prescription. Despite the effectiveness of finasteride, many people over the years have complained of numerous side effects, ranging from sexual problems such as erectile dysfunction and low libido to even depression. Finasteride is such a great drug for balding males but many have been turned off by it’s many side effects. I’ve been taking finasteride since my first hair transplant in Nov. 2016 and have yet to have any side effects. In this video, I will try to explain how you can take finasteride without having any side effects. Please note that I do not have any side effects from finasteride and the following information is from research that i have gathered online and from other user’s personal experience with finasteride. also, Before trying any of the following methods, please make sure to first consult with your doctor for proper medical advice.

1. Some users of finasteride claim that lowering the dosage from 1mg to 0.2mg has reduced or eliminated the side effects of finasteride. An medical study by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) revealed that taking finasteride at dosages of 0.2mg/day or higher was still effective in treating male pattern baldness, although it wasn’t as effective as taking the 1mg pill. this will lower the efficacy of the drug, but many will agree that something is always better than nothing. I’ll leave the link to the scientific study so that you can read about it if interested.

2. For those individuals who have been looking for a safer way to take finasteride, a topical form is now available. Many claim that it halts the progression of male pattern baldness effectively, with little chance of any unwanted side effects due to the minimal absorption into the rest of the body. The only bad thing is that finasteride is not as easily available to find in topical solution. However, customers in Canada can obtain a prescription for topical finasteride from hair transplant surgery Hasson&Wong, or if you based in Europe, you can purchase it online.

3. Finasteride works by eliminating testosterone from converting to DHT. If we eliminate DHT, it gives the body a chance for estrogen to dominate, which causes hormonal imbalances that may actually be the cause of unwanted side effects from taking finasteride, not from the drug itself. If a male’s estrogen level goes out of range, this can cause symptoms such as erectile dysfunction, low libido, depression, etc. The key here is to ensure that estrogen does not increase. Zinc has been known to prevent the conversion of testosterone to estrogen. Calcium D Glucarate also removes excess estrogen from the body. Indole-3-Carbinol is another strong excess estrogen eliminator that is found in veggies such as broccoli.

Products I am using to supplement my FUE hair transplant:

1. Finasteride 1mg/day (generic brand for Propecia/Proscar) - Finasteride is approved by the FDA for male pattern baldness and is effective in slowing hair loss for men.

2. Biotin 10,000mcg/day - Biotin is effective in thickening hair, nails, and beautifying the skin. I've noticed thicker and stronger hair after using Biotin for the past few months.

3. Vitamin D 3,000IU/day - Vitamin D helps maintain a healthy body

4. Minoxidil (Rogaine) - Minoxidil slows hair loss progression and promotes hair regrowth. I've noticed that using Minoxidil helped me grow my transplanted hairs a lot more quicker.

Clozapine: Benefits, Reducing Side Effect Risks, and Alternatives
Clozapine: Benefits, Reducing Side Effect Risks, and Alternatives Side Effects 3 Views • 5 months ago

This is a recorded lecture. It was given at the monthly Psychosis Education Event in January, 2023. The monthly Psychosis Education Event consists of a free lecture on some mental health related topic, followed by an open-forum question/answer session with a psychiatrist and clinical psychologist. It is free of charge and open to the public. If you would like to join, send me a note via https://askapsychiatrist.info

Clozapine is the most effective medication for schizophrenia. It is the only medication with FDA approval for reducing suicide risk. About 30% of people with schizophrenia do not get significant benefit from standard antipsychotic medication -- yet in that subset of individuals, clozapine is successful in about 50% of cases (the success rate of other antipsychotic medications is about 7% to 14%).

This lecture discusses:
1. Why do some people with schizophrenia-like symptoms not respond to standard, first-line antipsychotic medications?
2. What are the unique advantages of clozapine?
3. What are the most common or worrisome clozapine side effects, and how can their risks be minimized?
4. Are there any alternatives to clozapine?

Mechanism of Action:
The mechanism of action of meloxicam, like that of other NSAIDs, may be related to prostaglandin synthetase (cyclo-oxygenase) inhibition which is involved in the
initial steps of the arachidonic acid cascade, resulting in the reduced formation of prostaglandins, thromboxanes, and prostacyclins. It is not completely understood how
reduced synthesis of these compounds results in therapeutic efficacy.

Do not take Meloxicam if
 You are allergic to meloxicam or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. An allergic reaction may include rash, itching, swelling of face, lips, or
hands/feet, or breathing difficulties.
 You are in the last three months (third trimester) of your pregnancy or breast-feeding.
 You have previously had an allergic reaction, to other NSAIDs or to acetylsalicylic
acid (a medicine used in pain, inflammation, and fever).
You have suffered from asthma-like wheezing, swelling of the skin, or hives (urticaria)
after taking NSAIDs in the past.
 You have a blocked nose or difficulty in breathing through your nose after taking
NSAIDs or aspirin in the past. These may be due to a fleshy growth in the nose called
nasal polyps.
 You have an ulcer of the stomach or intestine (commonly called peptic ulcer), or have
had them repeatedly in the past.
 You have bleeding in your stomach or intestine (gastrointestinal bleeding), any other
bleeding disorder or had bleeding inside the brain (cerebrovascular bleeding).
 You have had gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation with the use of NSAID therapy
at any time in the past
 You have severe problems with your liver
 You have severe problems with your kidney(s) and are not on dialysis
 You suffer from severe heart failure (heart failure is a condition where your heart fails
to pump blood strongly enough to supply all the blood needed throughout the body).
Children and adolescents under the age of 16 years must not take Meloxicam tablets.

Your medication Cephalexin

Cephalexin is also known by the brand name: Keflex.

Cephalexin comes in 250, 500 and 750 mg capsules; 125 mg/5 mL and 250 mg/5 mL oral suspension.

Cephalexin is most commonly used for bacterial infections. No matter you’re your doctor has you taking it for, cephalexin is usually taken by mouth with or without food most commonly 3 to 4 times a day. If upset stomach occurs, take cephalexin with food. If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your normal dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. It is important to take to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished, even if your symptoms disappear.

Some common side effects with cephalexin include upset stomach, and diarrhea.
Some less common side effects with cephalexin include dizziness, tiredness, headache, itching, heartburn and vaginal yeast infection.

While taking Cephalexin, remember it is important to tell your doctor or pharmacist if:
• You have signs of an allergic reaction (rash, itching, swelling, tightness of the chest, etc.)
• You are taking probenecid.
• Your symptoms do not get better or if they worsen.

Cephalexin liquid needs to be stored in the refrigerator and shaken well before each dose is given. Use the measuring device received from the pharmacist or doctor. Any liquid remaining after 14 days needs to be thrown away. All other forms of Cephalexin are kept at room temperature, in a dry place.
