Estradiol is a powerful hormone, but one of its most serious side effects is the increased risk of blood clots, especially when taken orally. In this video, we explore how oral steroid hormones, including estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone, can interfere with the liver’s clotting process over time. We also discuss safer alternatives, such as transdermal creams and sublingual estrogen, which bypass the liver and reduce clotting risks. If you're considering hormone therapy, understanding these risks is crucial. Join us for our FREE Hormone Reboot Training to learn more!

Is GERD medicine safe? Taking a PPI for heartburn is safe and fine in the short term. But, taking one of these meds long-term can be unsafe. Here are the 7 to watch for, and make sure you are not taking long-term. Pills such as Prevacid, Nexium, Prilosec & Protonix have many worrisome side effects.
Sometimes busy doctors will continue to refill a medication that is not safe to take long-term. Heartburn/GERD meds are one of the therapeutic classes this often happens with. Taking a proton pump inhibitor for 2-6 weeks is safe and fine. Taking a PPI for many months or years is unsafe and can lead to many of the complications I discuss in this video.
Never thoughtlessly take a prescription pill. Think about every pill, every single day. It is your doctor’s job, but it is ultimately your problem.

Epinephrine is a life-saving medication used in emergencies like anaphylaxis and cardiac arrest, working by stimulating alpha and beta-adrenergic receptors to increase heart rate, constrict blood vessels, and open airways. It must be used with caution in patients with heart conditions and can interact with drugs like beta-blockers and MAO inhibitors.

Enalapril (Renitec): Drug Treats High Blood Pressure, Diabetic Kidney Disease and Heart Failure
For more information, Please visit: https://www.medindia.net/docto....rs/drug_information/
Enalapril belongs to a class of medications called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.
Enalapril is prescribed for treating hypertension or high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. It is also used for preventing symptomatic heart failure in patients with ventricular disorders such as asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction.
Enalapril can be recommended to treat diabetic kidney disease even in the absence of high blood pressure as it has protective effects on the kidney.
Do not handle hazardous chemicals, operate heavy machinery, and never attempt to drive during enalapril therapy as it affects mental alertness. Avoid alcohol consumption during enalapril treatment as it may result in further fainting or light-headedness.
Please help us translate this video in your language to make it more universal and useful to your language community. We present useful and essential information on the drug enalapril that everyone should know when taking this drug. Use Medindia drug information to check drug to drug interactions if you are taking more than one drug.

In this cardiovascular pharmacology lecture, Professor Zach Murphy provides a high-yield breakdown of ACE Inhibitors (ACE-Is) and Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (ARBs)—two cornerstone drug classes used in the treatment of hypertension, heart failure, diabetic nephropathy, and post-myocardial infarction care.
We begin by reviewing the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAAS) and how it regulates blood pressure, fluid balance, and vascular resistance. You’ll learn how ACE inhibitors (e.g., Lisinopril, Enalapril, Ramipril) block the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation, reduced aldosterone, and decreased afterload and preload.
We then cover ARBs (e.g., Losartan, Valsartan, Candesartan), which selectively block the angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT₁), offering similar benefits with a lower risk of bradykinin-related side effects such as cough and angioedema.
The lecture highlights therapeutic uses, contraindications (e.g., pregnancy, bilateral renal artery stenosis), and adverse effects including hyperkalemia, hypotension, and renal function changes. You’ll also learn key clinical distinctions between ACE-Is and ARBs and when to choose one over the other.

This video explains some serious side effects of enalapril.
Some other information on enalapril (for educational purposes only; not for a substitute for professional medical advice).
ENALAPRIL MALEATE TABLETS contains the active substance enalapril maleate.
‘ENALAPRIL’ belongs to a group of medicines known as ACE inhibitors (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitors). ‘ENALAPRIL’ works by causing your blood vessels to widen. This helps your blood pressure to fall. It also makes it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body.
The medicine usually starts to work within an hour, and the effect lasts for at least 24 hours. Some people will require several weeks of treatment until the best effect on their blood pressure is seen.
Do not take ‘ENALAPRIL’ if:
You are allergic to enalapril maleate, any other ACE inhibitors (a type of medicines similar to ‘ENALAPRIL’), or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Any member of your family has had an allergic reaction to these medicines or you have ever had swelling of your face, eyelids, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat which caused difficulty in swallowing or breathing (angioedema) when the reason why was not known or it was inherited.
You have diabetes or impaired kidney function and are treated with a blood pressure-lowering medicine containing aliskiren.
You are more than 3 months pregnant. (it is also better to avoid ‘ENALAPRIL’ in early pregnancy.
If you are being treated with sacubitril/valsartan, a medicine for heart failure.
Do not take ‘ENALAPRIL’ if any of the above apply to you. If you are not sure about taking ‘ENALAPRIL’, talk to your doctor.

Generic name: Enalapril.
Brand names: Vasotec en Renitec.
Available as a tablet en oral suspension.
How to use it?
- Tablet: Just swallow it with half a glass of water.
- Oral suspension: measure the precise amount you need to take with measuring cup. Take this amount. Afterwards rinse the cup with some water and drink this water as well.
When to use it?
Enalapril is part of a group of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors. These drugs widen the blood vessels, thus lowering the blood pressure and lowering the straint on the heart.
Therefore Enalapril can be used to treat; a high blood pressure and heart failure.
What is the correct dosage?
The precise dose will depend on your specific indication of use, the side effect you might experience and the severity of your symptoms. Therefore always use the precise amount and frequency your doctor prescribed you.
- However, when treating a high blood pressure in adults, most doctors will start with an initial dose of 5-20mg 1x/day. Which if necessary can be slowly increased up to a max. dose of 40 mg/day.
- When treating heart failure, the initial dose is much lower, and needs to be build up over a longer time. Ultimately the maintenance dose will be about the same; 20mg 1x/day, up to a maximum dose of 20mg 2x/day.
What are the side-effects?
- Very common (10%): Dizziness, blurred vision, cough and nausea.
- Common (1-10%): Low blood pressure, fainting, chest pain, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, diarrhea, abdominal pain, rash, itching, swelling in the face or throat, headache, fatigue and depression.
- Uncommon (0.1-1%): Palpitations, heart attack, cerebral haemorrhage, drowsiness, insomnia, dizziness, confusion, sore throat, hoarseness, asthma, dry mouth, decreased hunger, vomiting, constipation, inflammation of the pancreas, impaired kidney function, muscle cramps, tinnitus, fever, hair loss, rash and erectile dysfunction.
- Rare (0.01-0.1%): Several serious adverse reactions.
Safety:
- The first days of using Enalapril it can lead to dizziness or fatigue. Please do not drive while experiencing this.
- Furthermore, alcohol widens the blood vessels. It can therefore increase the side effect of dizziness at the beginning of treatment. Try drinking alcohol in moderation first so you can estimate its effects.
- Enalapril can also have interactions with other drugs your are taking. Always discuss this with your prescribing doctor.
