Digoxin comes in 125, and 250 mcg tablets and also in a 0.05mg/ml solution.
Digoxin is most commonly used for heart failure and to treat a fast heartbeat. It can be used for other reasons as well, talk with your doctor or pharmacist. No matter what your doctor has you taking it for, Digoxin is taken by mouth at the same time once daily with food.
If you miss a dose of digoxin:
• Take the missed dose as soon as you think about it
• If it has been over 12 hours or more since the missed dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your usual time
• If you miss your dose by 2 or more days, call your doctor
• Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses

The best way to store digoxin:
• Store at room temperature
• Protect from light
• Store in a dry place. Avoid storing in the bathroom and refrigerator.
• Keep in a safe place, out of the reach of children and pets
• Check with your pharmacist about how to throw out unused drugs

Usual doses of digoxin range from 125 mcg to 250 mcg.

Some less common side effects with digoxin include dizziness, mental disturbances, headache, anxiety, confusion, depression, and fever.

Do not take digoxin if:
• You have ventricular fibrillation

When taking digoxin, remember it is important to tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have:
• Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever
• Very bad dizziness or passing out
• Upset stomach or throwing up
• Diarrhea
• Change in eyesight
• Seeing halos or bright colors around lights
• Feeling confused
• Fast or slow heartbeat
• Hallucinations
• Very bad belly pain
