Strange & Weird Niacin (B3) Deficiency Signs and Symptoms
Strange & Weird Niacin (B3) Deficiency Signs and Symptoms Side Effects 3 Views • 5 months ago

Download My FREE guide: First Signs of a Nutrient Deficiency 👉 https://drbrg.co/3xHUlZ2

If you’re deficient in niacin (vitamin B3), you may have some strange symptoms. Find out how to spot a niacin deficiency and what you can do to fix it!

DATA:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/p....mc/articles/PMC90325

0:00 Introduction: Niacin deficiency symptoms
0:25 Subclinical symptoms of a vitamin B3 deficiency
1:41 How to fix a niacin deficiency
2:05 Benefits of niacin
3:50 Foods high in vitamin B3
4:39 How do you become deficient in niacin?
6:18 Learn more about zinc!

In this video, we’re going to talk about niacin deficiency symptoms. If you have a niacin deficiency, you might experience the “4 D's”: dermatitis, diarrhea, dementia, and even death.

Subclinical symptoms of a niacin deficiency include the following:
• Loss of taste
• Metallic/rancid taste in the mouth
• Loss of smell/change in smell
• Face moves when you look in the mirror
• Words move when you read
• Unstable or moving ground when walking
• Fatigue
• Inability to relax

You need large amounts of niacin to address a deficiency. You can take either niacin or niacinamide.

Niacin is a precursor to NAD, which helps extract electrons from foods. This allows you to get more energy from the food that you eat.

Vitamin B3 helps support something known as sirtuins, which support longevity and DNA repair. L-tryptophan can convert to niacin, serotonin, and melatonin!

Niacin is very beneficial for skin health and conditions like acne and psoriasis. A niacin deficiency can cause very dry, scaly skin.

The form of niacin known as niacinamide can help with inflammatory conditions like arthritis. Niacin also supports healthy levels of LDL and HDL cholesterol. It was very popular before the development of statins.

Animal protein and organ meats are the best sources of niacin. You can also get niacin from spirulina and nutritional yeast, but look for nutritional yeast that does not have added synthetic vitamins.

There is a tremendous amount of research on niacin and cholesterol, the heart, and mood disorders like schizophrenia, depression, and bipolar disorder.

A diet high in ultra-processed foods can lead to a niacin deficiency. Pregnancy, alcoholism, Covid-19, and certain medications can also contribute to a niacin deficiency.

VIDEO SUMMARY
----------------------------
Niacin (Vitamin B-3) is involved in over 400 biochemical reactions in the body!

As with other nutrients, methylfolate and niacin levels need to be in balance.

High doses of specific nutrients will push certain biochemical pathways more than others.

This is why niacin can be used to offset methylfolate side effects.

Niacin deficiency can cause: irritability, headaches, migraines, and possibly skin issues.

7:03 Learn more about what niacin can do for your cholesterol!

Today we’re going to cover the difference between the two forms of vitamin B3: niacin and niacinamide.

Both niacin and niacinamide chemically work similarly but have different benefits.

Niacin:
• Gives a flushing response
• Has lipid benefits
• Helps lower cholesterol
• Helps lower LDL
• Helps increase HDL
• Helps decrease inflammation in the arteries
• Supports a healthy liver
• May help with schizophrenia
• May help with drug-induced dyskinesia

Niacinamide:
• Won’t cause a flush
• Helps with certain skin conditions (acne, dermatitis, rosacea, and psoriasis)
• Helps lower histamines
• Helps reduce immune inflammatory factors
• Helps decrease flaking skin
• Helps reduce sebum
• May help reduce inflammation
• May help with arthritis
• Is used for anti-aging
• Is used for hyperpigmentation
• May help reduce anger and anxiety

Many people are discouraged from taking niacin because of potential side effects. But the dangers are rare and are typically involved in those taking very high doses over long periods and time-release niacin.

Niacin and statins are two different types of drugs or vitamin that commonly used to manage cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. That said, here’s a brief comparison between Niacin as Nicotinic Acid and Statins.

1: Niacin does increase levels of high density lipoprotein your good HDL Cholesterol  by 35%, and lowers your low-density lipoprotein your so called bad cholesterol LDL by 25%. While Statins has no significant effect on increasing HDL, but it does lower your LDL based on dose up to 30%

2: Niacin help to lower triglycerides levels by 20 to 50%, this is another type of blood fat, and high risk for diabetes, while Statins has no significant effect on reducing triglycerides levels.

3: Niacin lowers LP(a) between 10 to 30%, this is your major heart disease factor, while Statins slightly increase the levels of LP(a), and keep in mind this is  a major contributor of cardiovascular disease.

Technically speaking, Niacin will help neutralize ROS by activating Superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase. While Statins does absolutely nothing.

Niacin has many benefits, but is a niacin flush harmful or dangerous? Here's what you need to know.

1:10 What you need to know about niacin

Today we're going to talk about the niacin flush and if it's dangerous or not. The answer is no. I do not believe the niacin flush is harmful or dangerous.

With a niacin flush, you're getting massive relaxation of the muscles inside your blood vessels (vasodilation). This occurs because niacin releases something called prostaglandins.

Prostaglandins are lipids or fat compounds that have a hormone effect. Prostaglandins increase vasodilation, help reduce blood pressure, and help blood clotting. Prostaglandins are also involved in headaches and fevers.

Niacin has been used therapeutically for over 50 years, and it is the most effective natural agent for increasing your HDL (the good cholesterol). It can also decrease LDL (the damaging LDL) and triglycerides. The keto diet and intermittent fasting may also help with a person's cholesterol.

A person concerned about their cholesterol may need to take niacin in higher amounts (1000-2000mg per day). Keep in mind the type of niacin that is non-flushing doesn't have cholesterol-lowering benefits. Niacin may also potentially help reduce schizophrenia.

Contraceptive (Progesterone) Implant - Uses, Mechanism Of Action, Adverse Effects, Contraindications
Contraceptive (Progesterone) Implant - Uses, Mechanism Of Action, Adverse Effects, Contraindications Side Effects 2 Views • 5 months ago

Contraceptive implant, is a popular form of long acting, reversible contraception.
It is a rod that contains the hormone etonogestrel, a type of progesterone.
The rod is intended for subdermal implantation in the non-dominant hand, as you can see in this picture.
Once in place, it prevents pregnancy for about 3 years.
Progesterone implant can be removed at any time according to the woman’s desire.
Once removed, the fertility returns to normal within a couple of weeks.
It is indicated for contraception in nulliparous women, adolescents, and breastfeeding mothers.
In addition, it can be used as a contraceptive in the post-partum period as well.
It prevents conception by three mechanisms.
It inhibits ovulation by interfering with the hypothalamic pituitary ovarian axis.
It also causes thickening of cervical mucus, which makes it harder to the sperms to penetrate.
In addition, it causes thinning of the endometrium, which makes it unfavorable for implantation of an embryo.
Contraindications for progesterone implant include, pregnancy, Liver disease, including cirrhosis, and liver tumors, breast cancer, Unexplained vaginal bleeding, And allergy or hypersensitivity to progesterone implant.
Pregnancy rate with the implant is around 0.05%, which is slightly lesser than that of the intra uterine contraceptive devices.
Common adverse effects of the contraceptive implant include the following.
Menstrual irregularities.
Absent menstruation, or Amenorrhea.
Breast tenderness.
Mild weight gain.
Acne.
Headache.
And abdominal pain.
Finally, the contraceptive implant can cause mild to moderate pain, that will disappear within a few days.

Nexplanon with Family Medicine Specialist Dr. Paul John
Nexplanon with Family Medicine Specialist Dr. Paul John Side Effects 1 Views • 5 months ago

Patient Caitlyn was on different types of birth control. She found it was a struggle to remain consistent taking them, and also experienced negative side effects. She ended up talking with Austin area Family Medicine Specialist Dr. Paul John about her problem, and he prescribed her a new birth control device called Nexplanon. Nexplanon is a very small elastic tube device that only needs to be replaced every three years. It slowly releases a hormone over the course of those three years, allowing the patient to free themselves from the burden of taking a pill every day.

More details are in the video on my experience and the side effects. Every woman is different, but it may be time for a change. Please comment, rate, and subscribe. Let me know if you have any questions. If you are on this birth control let me know how your experience went.

Watch more How to Pick a Birth Control Method videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/....510805-Birth-Control

Learn about the possible side effects of a birth control implant in this Howcast video.

The birth control implant is a small plastic rod that gets placed into your arm, and it lasts for three years.

One of the most common side effects of this form of birth control is breakthrough bleeding. You may notice that when you have this implant placed that your periods will no longer be predictable. In fact, you can have irregular bleeding and spotting for the duration of this implant. So, after you've had the implant placed, if you notice irregular bleeding, don't worry. If you are concerned, you can always call your physician or your nurse practitioner. However, the birth control is still effective despite the bleeding.

Another side effect that patients may be concerned with are headaches. If you do get headaches with this form of birth control, you can take Tylenol and Motrin to relieve them. But if you notice that the headaches are persisting and you're concerned, you can always call your physician or your nurse practitioner to talk about the side effects.

#nexplanon #birthcontrol #nexplanonreview #birthcontrolimplant #nexplanonproblems

Birth control is something that seems taboo to talk about but it’s something that needs to be discussed. Doctors keep highly recommending implants and other birth control options that could be effecting our mental health AND physical health. Make sure you fully research a birth control option before deciding to get it. I tried researching the nexplanon before I got it and there were no negative reviews to be found until AFTER it was already in my arm! I really hope this helps someone decide not to get this implant. I wish I could have found a video like this before getting mine. I also forgot to mention in this video that I also experienced fatigue, hair loss, and complete loss of sex drive.
I spoke to my doctor about the sex drive issue and she blew it off completely... saying that’s just what happens after you have a baby.

As I am writing this 5 days after I had the nexplanon removed I can confidently say that the majority of symptoms I was experiencing with the nexplanon have gone away. I am feeling better, more energetic, and happier than I have been in the last 14 months.

Please comment with your experience with the nexplanon or any other birth control to help others decide on what birth control options are best for them.

Let’s start a discussion! Let’s help each other!

• This medicine is used in adults for the short term treatment of reflux symptoms (for example, heartburn and acid regurgitation).
•Reflux is the backflow of acid from the stomach into the gullet (“foodpipe”) which may become inflamed and painful. This may cause you symptoms such as a painful sensation in the chest rising up to your throat (heartburn) and a sour taste in the mouth (acid regurgitation).
•Esomeprazole is not meant to bring immediate relief.
•You may need to take the capsules for 2-3 days in a row before you feel better. You must talk to a doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 14 days.
