No one wants to be on a blood thinner. But while some people only need it for a short period of time, others will need to take a blood thinner for a long time. So how do you know if you can stop your blood thinner? At the end of the day you have to balance risk for clotting off of the blood thinner with risk of bleeding while taking it.
This video is about taking blood thinners after a blood clot (like a pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis). It is not about taking a blood thinner for atrial fibrillation. That is different.

The FDA recently approved of a biosimilar (CT-P13) to infliximab, which is used for treating IBD patients, as well as patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, and plaque psoriasis. The new drug would be the first biosimilar monoclonal antibody approved in the United States.

Study this Sucralfate NCLEX mnemonic and other mnemonics with Pixorize.
Sucralfate is a mucosal protectant that forms a protective layer over the walls of the gastrointestinal tract, which can be helpful in preventing and treating ulcers. Notably, sucralfate alters the absorption of other drugs taken by mouth, so it shouldn’t be taken at the same time as any other PO medications. Sucralfate is best taken on an empty stomach. It may cause constipation as a side effect in some patients.

Dr Nguyen, a community-based medical oncologist, discusses the benefits of BRUKINSA for his patients with B-cell malignancies, including those with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and Waldenström's macroglobulinemia (WM).
BRUKINSA is a kinase inhibitor indicated for the treatment of adult patients with:
• Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL)
• Waldenström's macroglobulinemia (WM)
• Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) who have received at least one prior therapy
• Relapsed or refractory marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) who have received at least one anti-CD20-based regimen
• Relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma (FL), in combination with obinutuzumab, after two or more lines of systemic therapy
The MCL, MZL and FL indications are approved under accelerated approval based on overall response rate and durability of response. Continued approval for these indications may be contingent upon verification and description of clinical benefit in confirmatory trials.
Serious adverse reactions, including fatal events, have occurred with BRUKINSA, including hemorrhage, infections, cytopenias, second primary malignancies, cardiac arrhythmias, and embryo-fetal toxicity. In the pooled safety population (N=1729), the most common adverse reactions (≥30%), including laboratory abnormalities, in patients who received BRUKINSA were neutrophil count decreased (51%), platelet count decreased (41%), upper respiratory tract infection (38%), hemorrhage (32%), and musculoskeletal pain (31%).
