0:10 Niacin vs. niacinamide
1:55 The dangers of niacin
3:35 Benefits of niacin
4:25 Benefits of niacinamide
7:03 Learn more about what niacin can do for your cholesterol!

Today we’re going to cover the difference between the two forms of vitamin B3: niacin and niacinamide.

Both niacin and niacinamide chemically work similarly but have different benefits.

Niacin:
• Gives a flushing response
• Has lipid benefits
• Helps lower cholesterol
• Helps lower LDL
• Helps increase HDL
• Helps decrease inflammation in the arteries
• Supports a healthy liver
• May help with schizophrenia
• May help with drug-induced dyskinesia

Niacinamide:
• Won’t cause a flush
• Helps with certain skin conditions (acne, dermatitis, rosacea, and psoriasis)
• Helps lower histamines
• Helps reduce immune inflammatory factors
• Helps decrease flaking skin
• Helps reduce sebum
• May help reduce inflammation
• May help with arthritis
• Is used for anti-aging
• Is used for hyperpigmentation
• May help reduce anger and anxiety

Many people are discouraged from taking niacin because of potential side effects. But the dangers are rare and are typically involved in those taking very high doses over long periods and time-release niacin.

Cialis (Tadalafil) – Side Effects, Uses, Mechanism of Action, Dosage, Interactions, Warnings
Cialis (tadalafil) is a medication primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and sometimes pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). As a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, it increases levels of cGMP, leading to relaxation of smooth muscles and improved blood flow, enhancing erectile function and alleviating urinary symptoms in BPH. Common side effects include headaches, back pain, flushing, and indigestion, while more serious risks include vision loss, hearing issues, and prolonged erections (priapism). Dosages vary: for ED, it can be taken either on-demand (10-20 mg) or daily (2.5-5 mg); for BPH, a daily 5 mg dose is typical; and for PAH, 40 mg daily is recommended. Cialis interacts with medications like nitrates and alpha-blockers, which can cause significant drops in blood pressure, and grapefruit juice may affect its metabolism.

How to use Telmisartan

Read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your pharmacist before you start taking telmisartan and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily.

The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.

Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day. Keep taking this medication even if you feel well. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel sick. For the treatment of high blood pressure, it may take up to 4 weeks before you get the full benefit of this drug.

Side Effects

Dizziness or lightheadedness may occur as your body adjusts to the medication. If either of these effects lasts or gets worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

To reduce the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.

Remember that this medication has been prescribed because your doctor has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: fainting, symptoms of a high potassium blood level (such as muscle weakness, slow/irregular heartbeat).

Although telmisartan may be used to prevent kidney problems or treat people who have kidney problems, it may also rarely cause serious kidney problems or make them worse. Your doctor will check your kidney function while you are taking telmisartan. Tell your doctor right away if you have any signs of kidney problems such as a change in the amount of urine.
