➡️ Vitamin B12 Benefits
Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is one of the eight B vitamins that play a role in our body systems. It's a water-soluble vitamin that is involved in cell metabolism and the production of DNA.
➡️ Boosts Energy Levels
One of the key roles that vitamin B12 plays in the human body is involved in energy production. It helps to produce red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body. This increased flow of oxygen can help naturally boost your energy levels and decrease levels of fatigue.
➡️ Helps Create New Red Blood Cells
I mentioned this earlier, but vitamin B12 is essential for the production of new red blood cells. Red blood cells are important because they carry oxygen throughout the body, which is necessary for all of our organs and tissues to function properly.
➡️ Helps Prevent Anemia
Anemia is a condition that occurs when there are not enough red blood cells in the body. This can lead to a variety of symptoms, such as fatigue, shortness of breath, and pale skin. Vitamin B12 can help to prevent anemia by helping to increase the production of red blood cells.
➡️ Supports the Nervous System
Vitamin B12 is very important for the health of the nervous system. This vitamin helps to keep the nerve cells functioning properly and can even help prevent neurological conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
➡️ Improves Heart Health
One study found that those with high levels of vitamin B12 were actually at a lower risk of heart disease. Vitamin B12 helps to keep levels of homocysteine to a minimum. Homocysteine is an amino acid that has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease.
➡️ Reduces the Risk of Depression
Depression is a common mental health condition that can lead to a number of negative consequences. Researchers believe that a vitamin B12 deficiency may contribute to the development of depression.
➡️ Supports Bone Health
Bone health is important for everyone, but it's especially essential for the aging population. Vitamin B12 plays a critical role in the formation of new bones and even helps maintain aging bones as well.
➡️ Reduces the Risk of Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is a condition that affects the retina and can lead to blindness. It is the leading cause of vision loss in adults.
➡️ Promotes Healthy Skin and Hair
Vitamin B12 is essential for the health of our hair and skin, and it helps both appear healthy and hydrated. Some researchers believe that it can even help promote hair growth by keeping the scalp healthy.
➡️ Prevents Birth Defects
This vitamin plays an important role in the development of an infant. As previously mentioned, it helps with the creation of new red blood cells and helps to keep the nervous system healthy.

Many men are afraid of possible side effects of Viagra (Sildenafil), Cialis (Tadalafil), Stendra (Avanafil) or Levitra (Vardenafil). Dr. med. dr. phil. Stefan Buntrock, urologist from Göttingen, explains in this video on UroChannel the most common and common side effects of PDE-5 inhibitors. These include headaches, flushes, nasal congestion and muscle or back pain as a special in Cialis. Generally, it would be wrong to think that side effects are inevitable and that you can't get any effects without side effects. Most patients will not experience any adverse events.

Many men are afraid that Viagra / Cialis might be harmful to their heart. Dr. med. dr. phil. Stefan Buntrock, urologist from Göttingen, explains in this video on UroChannel, that PDE-5 inhibitors are not dangerous to the heart. As a matter of fact, this class of drug was developed for cardiovascular indications. Because of unexpected side effects in terms of increased erectile functionality, Sildenafil was shifted away from cardiology to urology. But research has shown, that these drugs have a lot of benefits for heart patients. So within 10 to 15 years, Viagra will probably become one of the standard treatments for heart patients. For the time being, it is licensed for pulmonary hypertension. Contradindications concern mainly a simultaneous use together with nitrates. This must not be done since it may cause a fatal drop in blood pressure. Likewise, unselective alpha blockers should not combined with these drugs and a certain class of antiarrhythmic drugs. This means that Viagra / Cialis / Levitra / Stendra is safe for most men when it comes to the heart.

In this video we will cover everything you need to know about Propranolol. We will discuss how and when to use it, we will cover its side effects, dosage and much, much more.

Generic name: Propranolol.
Brand names: Propranolol.
Available as a tablet, delayed release capsule and as a drink.
How to use it?
- Tablet: Just swallow it with half a glass of water.
- Capsule: make sure to swallow it whole with water. Don’t chew on the capsule and don’t break it, as this could decrease its effectivity.
- Drink: measure the precise amount you need to take with measuring cup. Take this amount. Afterwards rinse the cup with some water and drink this water as well.
When to use it?
Propranolol is part of a group of drugs called beta blockers. These reduce the workload on your heart and widen your blood vessels, causing your heart to beat slower and with less force. Therefore Propranolol can be used to treat; a high blood pressure; several types of heart problems (like arrhytmias and angina pectoris), thyroid problems, migraine, tremor and anxiety.
What is the correct dosage?
The precise dose will depend on your specific indication of use, the side effect you might experience and the severity of your symptoms. Therefore always use the precise amount and frequency your doctor prescribed you.
- However, when treating a high blood pressure in adults, most doctors will start with an initial dose of 40mg 2-3x/day (when taking tablets) or 80mg 1x per/day (when taking capsules). Which if necessary can be slowly increased up to a max. dose of 320 mg/day.
What are the side-effects?
- Common (1-10%): slow heart rate, shortness of breath, nightmares, cold hands/feet and fatigue.
- Uncommon (0.1-1%): diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting.
- Rare (0.01-0.1%): changes in your blood values, worsening of heart failure, low blood pressure, hallucinations, fainting, psychoses, mood swings, confusion, amnesia, dizziness, visual disturbances, dry eyes and skin rash.
- Very rare (0.01%): aggravation of myasthenia gravis, myasthenia gravis-like syndrome, alteration in fat metabolism and low blood sugar.
Safety:
- The first days of using propranolol it can lead to dizziness or fatigue. Please do not drive while experiencing this.
- Furthermore, alcohol widens the blood vessels. It can therefore increase the side effect of dizziness at the beginning of treatment. Try drinking alcohol in moderation first so you can estimate its effects.
- In addition smoking speeds up the breakdown of this drug. If you stop smoking, the amount of this drug in the blood may increase. This can make it stronger or cause side effects.
- Propranolol can also have interactions with other drugs your are taking. Always discuss this with your prescribing doctor.
- Lastly, propranolol could be dangerous for pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding. Therefore always discuss this with your personal doctor.

Considerations & Limitations
• Most research is preclinical, meaning studies have been done in cells and animal models, but not yet proven in large human trials.
• Potential side effects: Though generally safe at prescribed doses, ivermectin is not an FDA-approved cancer treatment, and its effects in cancer patients require further study.
While early studies indicate that ivermectin has potential anticancer properties, more clinical trials are needed to establish its safety and efficacy in humans. Patients interested in alternative treatments should always consult with their healthcare provider before considering off-label uses.

Opioids are part of a drug class that includes the illegal drug heroin and powerful pain relievers such as oxycodone, hydrocodone, codeine, morphine, fentanyl, and many others. In 2015, more than 33,000 people died from overdoses involving opioids. Every day in the United States more than 1,000 people are treated in emergency departments for not using prescription opioids as directed.
Lily Fang's animation, Susan’s Brain, is part of a free online course produced by HarvardX and Harvard Health Publications. The course, The Opioid Crisis in America, challenges preconceptions about addiction and about who can become addicted to opioids, and this animation illustrates changes in the brain that lead to addiction. On this podcast episode, I discuss Clotrimazole pharmacology, adverse effects, indications, administration, and much more.
Clotrimazole is an imidazole antifungal that exerts its pharmacological effect by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This inhibition compromises membrane integrity, leading to leakage of cellular contents and ultimately fungal cell death.
Clotrimazole is primarily used topically due to poor systemic absorption when administered via the skin or mucous membranes, which limits systemic side effects.
When clotrimazole is used intravaginally or orally in lozenge form, localized concentrations are sufficient to treat mucocutaneous infections without significant systemic exposure.
Pay attention when clotrimazole is used frequently to treat Candida infections as corticosteroids, immunosuppression, and antibiotics may increase the risk of this type of infection.

This is an informational overview video on Amoxicillin with Clavulanic acid. It is also known under the brandname; "Augmentin". It is available as a powder for oral suspension, a tablet and as an injection.
When to use it?
Augmentin is a wide-spectrum antibiotic. Which means it can be used to treat thousands different types of bacteria. Therefore Augmentin is mostly used to treat infections caused by unknown microorganisms, such as:

How to use it?
Swallow it tablet whole, with a glass of water. Do not chew on it or crush it. Or resolve the powder in half a glass of water and drink it.
Always take it at fixed times: preferably in the morning and in the evening. This lowers your chances on forgetting a dose. Furthermore, do not interrupt or stop the treatment and finish it completely.
What is the correct dosage?
It is important to always follow the precise prescription your doctor gave you.
Dose for adults and children 40kg:
500/125 mg every 8 hours
875/125 mg every 12 hours
In serious infections
1000/125 mg every 8 hours
Did you forget to take a dose? And does it take less than 4 hours till your next dose? Than skip the dose you missed and take the forgotten dose at the end of your treatment.
What are the side-effects?
(10%): diarrhea.
(1-10%): nausea, vomiting, candidiasis.
(0.1-1%): Dizziness, headache, rash, itching, dyspepsia.

Adderall is often referred to as a “study drug,” and students and young professionals frequently use it to increase their focus and level of productivity. Adderall and drugs like it are also called “smart drugs,” and even with the potential risks, 1 in 5 students use study drugs.
Though this has become a more commonly known drug used amongst teens and young adults, it is important to share more awareness on the side effects and risks that come when abusing this substance.

Dr. Pagnani of Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates discusses two categories of controlled stimulant medications used to treat ADHD in adults: amphetamines and methylphenidates. Amphetamines (like adderall, vyvanse and dexedrine) and methylphenidates (like ritalin, concerta and focalin) both increase availability in the extraneuronal space of norepinephrine and dopamine by preventing their reuptake and also increasing their release. These medications have significant abuse potential and patients can develop physiological dependence and tolerance. They can also cause withdrawal, if taken regularly and decreased or stopped abruptly. There are various side effects, some potentially serious, and taking these medications must be under the direct supervision of a medical professional.
Dr. Pagnani discusses that in his clinical experience, he's found that the amphetamine stimulants seem to have a higher likelihood of causing anxiety, irritability, insomnia, restless, tiredness or "crash," between doses or when the medication is wearing off. With that said, these medications may work better for individuals with significant hyperactivity as part of their illness, than the methylphenidates, and there are certainly many patients who tolerate them well. Methylphenidates are often preferred (when medication management with a controlled medication is warranted) for patients who's primary symptom of ADHD is difficulty with focus (mental, as opposed to physical hyperactivity). He discusses that he believes there's a lower abuse potential (although there certainly IS abuse potential) with methylphenidates than amphetamines.
Dr. Pagnani is the founder and medical director of Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates, an Instructor at The Johns Hopkins Hospital for the Department of Psychiatry, he supervises psychiatric residents at Jefferson Hospital, he serves on the Young Professional Board of Uplift, the Center for Grieving Children and he maintains a private practice of Psychiatry in Philadelphia where he sees patients for one-time psychiatric evaluations and second opinions. He is a licensed physician and surgeon in NJ, PA, NY, MD, DE, FL and CA and can provide consultations to individuals via HIPAA compliant Telehealth visits living in these locations.
Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates is a private practice of psychiatry consisting of about 25 psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and psychotherapists with physical locations in Philadelphia and Paoli, PA and serving all of PA, NJ, NY and FL virtually via HIPAA compliant tele-psychiatry. Individuals seeking not only evaluations but long-term psychiatric care, can contact Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates directly.
These videos aim to increase awareness and discussion of mental health topics and to encourage struggling individuals to schedule an appointment directly with a mental health provider. Mental health needs to be normalized, and simply speaking about mental health topics openly, is an important first step.
Dr. Pagnani and Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates are NOT advocating for or against the use of any mentioned psychiatric medications for any specific individual. Additionally, any side effects mentioned are not a complete list of potential side effects or contraindications to taking any mentioned medications, and all risks and benefits of a medication should be discussed with an individual’s provider at an appointment, before starting, stopping or making changes to a medication regimen.

In this video Doctor O'Donovan explains key facts about a medication called LISINOPRIL (also known by its brand or trade names such as Prinivil or Zestril) and how it is used to treat high blood pressure (aka hypertension).
Contents:
00:00 - Introduction
00:45 - What is Lisinopril?
01:08 - How does Lisinopril work?
01:24 - Who can and can't take lisinopril?
02:10 - How and when to take lisinopril?
04:05 - Potential side effects of lisinopril
06:08 - Breastfeeding and pregnancy information
06:43 - Potential interactions
Key facts from the NHS website:
*Lisinopril lowers your blood pressure and makes it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body.
*Your very first dose of lisinopril may make you feel dizzy, so it's best to take it at bedtime. After the first dose, if you do not feel dizzy, you can take lisinopril at any time of day. Try to take it at the same time every day.
*Some people get a dry, tickly cough with lisinopril. If this happens your doctor might suggest you change to a different medicine.
*If you get severe diarrhoea or vomiting from a stomach bug or illness, tell your doctor. You may need to stop taking lisinopril for a while until you feel better.
*Drinking alcohol with lisinopril can make you feel dizzy or lightheaded. It's best to stop drinking alcohol until you see how the medicine affects you.

Tramadol Tablet for Pain Relief | Is It Safe ?
#tramadol #painrelief
Understanding Tramadol : Uses, Dosage, Side Effects, and More
Hello friends, in this video, we will be discussing #tramadol a type of pain-killer. We'll cover how Tramadol works, the types of pain it can be used for, whether it can cure my problem, if it can potentially harm my kidneys or liver, the correct dosage, and the potential side effects.
Tramadol belongs to the opioid class of drugs. This medication is suitable for various types of pain, including acute pain, chronic pain, arthritis, cancer pain, and nerve pain. It is primarily used for moderate pain and is comparatively milder than morphine. Tramadol assists in relieving pain. When taken in the recommended dosage, it does not adversely affect the kidneys or liver. In fact, the dosage can be adjusted in case of kidney or liver disease. The maximum allowable dosage of Tramadol is 400 mg/day. The dosage also depends on whether it's short-acting, long-acting, or an extended-release preparation.
Common side effects of Tramadol include nausea, vomiting, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, restlessness, poor concentration, itching, dry mouth, and headaches. Tramadol should be used with caution in patients with epilepsy. With regular use, Tramadol can lead to dependence, tolerance, or withdrawal symptoms.

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker used to treat hypertension and anginal chest pain. It acts to inhibit or “block” the voltage-gated L-type calcium channels, reducing vasoconstriction and promoting vasodilation to lower blood pressure. However, due to this mechanism, amlodipine can cause a wide variety of side effects, which we discuss in this lesson.
