Oral hydroxyzine could be safely used as oral sedation for children during dental treatment, according to a recent study published in the European Archives of Paediatric Dentistry.
Management of a child's anxiety early in their treatment is essential in dentistry. Sedative medications are used to overcome increased anxiety from previous appointments and to promote the cooperation of children during treatment.
Hydroxyzine is currently prescribed to young patients as part of the first level of conscious sedation. The main objective was to evaluate the professional practice of oral hydroxyzine when prescribed for children presenting anxiety during dental treatment procedures performed by students and senior practitioners.

A health practitioner, a businessman, an award-winning musician, a retiree, and a pregnant woman are among the growing list of Australians who have been poisoned by the synthetic form of vitamin B6.
There are at least 121 confirmed cases in which it has caused life-changing issues for those who have taken it regularly, Australia's medicines regulator has said.
Doctors believe the scale of the problem could be greater than what is currently known.

Are There Side Effects Of Vitamin E Supplements? Vitamin E supplements have gained attention for their potential role in managing certain health conditions. In this informative video, we will discuss the effects of Vitamin E, especially for individuals dealing with movement disorders like tardive dyskinesia, which can be a side effect of antipsychotic medications. We will cover how Vitamin E functions as an antioxidant and its possible benefits for those experiencing involuntary movements. However, it's essential to understand that while Vitamin E may provide some support, it can also lead to side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort, fatigue, and allergic reactions.
We will also highlight the importance of consulting with a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement, especially for those on medications like blood thinners, as interactions can pose serious health risks. Monitoring your health while taking supplements is crucial to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Let’s talk about vitamin A—the benefits of vitamin A and the dark side.
Vitamin A is a non-keratinizing vitamin. Keratinization is a condition that causes skin issues.
Both a vitamin A deficiency and excess vitamin A can affect the internal and external skin in many ways.
Vitamin A is involved in supporting the immune system as well. There is an association between vitamin A deficiency and autoimmune conditions like Graves’ and Hashimoto’s. Vitamin A also allows iodine to be absorbed.
Signs of vitamin A deficiency:
• Poor night vision
• Blindness
• Dry eyes
• Poor immunity
• Skin problems
• Bone issues
Signs of too much vitamin A:
• Abnormal bone formation
• Dry lips
• Dry skin
• Double vision
• Alopecia
• Oily skin
• Peeling skin
• Heart valve calcification
• Hypercalcemia
• Intracranial pressure
Vitamin A toxicity is rare, but taking a synthetic vitamin A supplement may increase your risk. Synthetic vitamin A may also increase the risk of lung cancer. Accutane, a form of synthetic vitamin A, has serious potential side effects.
I suggest getting your vitamin A from food sources or natural food-based supplements.
Foods high in vitamin A (retinol):
• Cod liver oil
• Egg yolks
• Grass-fed butter
• Grass-fed cheese
• Liver
Beta carotene is the precursor to the active form of vitamin A (retinol). Beta carotene is in foods like carrots and spinach.
But, If you’re relying on beta carotene alone to get your vitamin A or if you have a liver or gallbladder issue, you could be deficient in vitamin A.

When seeking treatment for ADHD symptoms, many people are vastly under-informed on their options. If you’ve only been prescribed Vyvanse, Adderall, or one of the other big-brand pharmaceuticals, you may not even know the many other options out there, including natural supplements and homeopathic solutions. Learn more about Vyvanse, its differences from Adderall, and what natural remedies may be good alternatives for you
Today’s scientists believe that the main reason adult ADHD remains underdiagnosed is that the diagnostic criteria for ADHD created in the DSM-V (the current manual for diagnosing mental illnesses, published in 2013) were developed around the signs and symptoms of children, specifically boys. There is also an implicit racial bias to how patients of color are diagnosed and treated for mental illnesses, ADHD included. This can affect the ability of young girls, children of color, and people experiencing adult-onset symptoms of ADHD to get proper diagnosis and treatment.
As it turns out, however, ADHD is a disorder that affects a diverse population of all ages and gender identities. And, for adults living with the symptoms of ADHD, Adderall can’t always be used to manage their condition — whether it interacts poorly with their other medications or just doesn’t seem to work for them. In this case, there are several alternatives typically prescribed instead, such as the drug Vyvanse.
So what Is Vyvanse?
Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) - Vyvanse is a stimulant in a family of amphetamine-based drugs used to treat certain symptoms of ADHD. Using a balance of naturally occurring chemicals in the brain called neurotransmitters, Vyvanse can target many aspects of the disorder that keep patients from being able to pay attention. The effect of this drug can help people with attention disorders have a much more organized and productive life. Some other Vyvanse uses are for the treatment of illnesses like Binge Eating Disorder, but due to the risk of certain more serious effects, it should never be used as a weight-loss drug.
Lisdexamfetamine and ADHD
When used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan, Lisdexamfetamine (the active ingredient in Vyvanse) can be a great help to patients with ADHD. The drug addresses the inability to stay focused, sit still without fidgeting, and pay attention to any tasks at hand. By providing the ability for the neurotransmitters in the brain to flow uninterrupted, Vyvanse can help people feel more in control of their thoughts and actions, and ultimately, their lives.

Coumadin (or warfarin) is the most commonly used oral anticoagulant drug, often called a blood thinner. It is used to prevent blood clots in veins or arteries, reducing the risk of heart attacks & strokes. Coumadin is given for long-term prevention or management of: venous thrombosis (blood clot in a vein, including DVT), pulmonary embolism (blockage of an artery in the lungs), or embolisms associated with atrial fibrillation or prosthetic heart valves. Additionally, after a heart attack, Coumadin is given to reduce the risk of a recurring heart attack, stroke, & death.

In this cardiovascular pharmacology lecture, Professor Zach Murphy delivers a comprehensive breakdown of Warfarin. This widely used oral anticoagulant plays a central role in preventing and treating thromboembolic disorders.
We begin by exploring Warfarin’s mechanism of action—inhibiting vitamin K epoxide reductase (VKOR)—which disrupts the hepatic synthesis of vitamin K–dependent clotting factors II, VII, IX, and X, as well as proteins C and S. You’ll learn how this anticoagulant effect is delayed and requires careful monitoring due to its narrow therapeutic index.
The lecture covers key clinical uses, including atrial fibrillation, venous thromboembolism (VTE), mechanical heart valves, and stroke prevention. It also discusses the importance of INR monitoring to adjust dosing and minimize the risk of bleeding.
We also cover Warfarin’s numerous drug and dietary interactions, CYP450 metabolism, and genetic variability (CYP2C9, VKORC1) that influence patient response. Finally, we discuss reversal strategies using vitamin K, fresh frozen plasma, or prothrombin complex concentrate (PCC) in bleeding or urgent surgery.

Warfarin (Coumadin) nursing NCLEX pharmacology review of the side effects, nursing considerations, and patient education.
Warfarin (Coumadin) is a vitamin K antagonist, which is a type of anticoagulant. This medication stops the coagulation process by blocking the formation of clotting factors in the liver that require Vitamin K to form. Theses clotting factors include II, VII, IX, X
Nursing considerations for Warfarin include: monitor PT/INR level (therapeutic INR level 2-3), assessing for signs and symptoms of bleeding, being familiar with the antidote (Vitamin K), administering the medication at the same time every day, avoiding intramuscular IM injections etc.
Patient education about Warfarin include: using soft bristle toothbrush, electric razor, avoid contact sports, holding firm pressure at any injuries site, avoid consuming excessive amount of green leafy vegetables, and knowing what to do if a dose is missed.
