The Powerful Effects of PRANAYAMA on your body | Niraj Naik | SOMA Breath®️
The Powerful Effects of PRANAYAMA on your body | Niraj Naik | SOMA Breath®️ Side Effects 3 Views • 5 months ago

Here is the secret behind PRANAYAMA!
In this video, I'll take you through the science of breathing, starting from the basics and diving deeper into the core concepts you need to know. My goal is to help you understand the "why" behind it all, so you can confidently answer questions when people ask you about it.

Breathing manipulates our levels of oxygen, CO2, and nitric oxide, which are essential to our health. Oxygen is necessary for energy production in the body. With every breath technique we do, the number of mitochondria in each cell can increase, making our cells more efficient at using energy. At PRANAYAMA, we use breathing techniques to control and manipulate this energy in the body.

Oxygen causes vasoconstriction, which can lead to oxidative stress that damages our cells. Our body is intelligent and only drops off oxygen where it's needed, signaled by carbon dioxide gas. If we breathe too much or too little, we can cause constriction and make ourselves less efficient at breathing.

PRANAYAMA aims to raise our internal CO2 levels, making us more efficient at using oxygen and improving our overall health. So, it's important to understand the science behind breathing and the role it plays in our energy control.

Solifenacin: The Game-Changer in Overactive Bladder Treatment – What You Need to Know
Solifenacin: The Game-Changer in Overactive Bladder Treatment – What You Need to Know Side Effects 3 Views • 5 months ago

How does solifenacin work?
Solifenacin belongs to a class of medications known as antimuscarinics, which are also anticholinergic agents. It works by selectively blocking the M3 muscarinic receptors in the bladder, inhibiting the involuntary contractions of the detrusor muscle. By doing so, solifenacin helps increase bladder capacity and reduce the frequency and urgency of urination.
Unlike some other anticholinergics, solifenacin exhibits a higher selectivity for the bladder muscarinic receptors, which means it has a more targeted effect and reduced potential for side effects on other organs, such as the salivary glands or the gastrointestinal tract. This selectivity is one of the reasons why solifenacin is considered a game-changer in the treatment of overactive bladder.
Benefits of solifenacin over other treatments
Solifenacin offers several advantages over traditional treatments for overactive bladder. One of the key benefits is its high selectivity for the bladder muscarinic receptors, as mentioned earlier. This selectivity helps minimize the risk of side effects commonly associated with anticholinergics, such as dry mouth and constipation, making solifenacin a more tolerable option for many individuals.
Another advantage of solifenacin is its once-daily dosing regimen. Unlike some other medications that need to be taken multiple times throughout the day, solifenacin can be taken once in the morning, ensuring convenience and ease of use. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals with busy schedules or those who may have difficulty remembering to take their medication throughout the day.
Furthermore, solifenacin has been shown to significantly improve quality of life in individuals with overactive bladder. Clinical studies have demonstrated that solifenacin reduces the frequency of urination, urgency episodes, and nocturia, allowing individuals to regain control over their bladder function and enjoy a better quality of life.
Potential side effects of solifenacin
While solifenacin is generally well-tolerated, like any medication, it can cause side effects in some individuals. The most common side effects associated with solifenacin include dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, and mild gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea and indigestion. These side effects are usually mild and transient, and they often improve with continued use of the medication.
In rare cases, solifenacin can cause more severe side effects, such as urinary retention, which is the inability to empty the bladder completely. This is more commonly observed in individuals with pre-existing bladder outlet obstruction or other conditions that affect bladder function. If you experience difficulty urinating or notice a decrease in urine output while taking solifenacin, it is important to seek medical attention promptly.
Dosage and administration of solifenacin
Solifenacin is available in tablet form and is typically taken once daily, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food. The recommended starting dose for most individuals is 5 mg per day. However, depending on the response and tolerability, the dose may be increased to 10 mg per day after 4 weeks. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and not exceed the recommended maximum daily dose of 10 mg.
It is worth noting that the dosage of solifenacin may need to be adjusted in individuals with certain medical conditions, such as liver or kidney impairment. Additionally, caution should be exercised when prescribing solifenacin to the elderly population, as they may be more prone to experiencing adverse effects.

7:15 Learn more about potassium!

Let’s talk about the signs you’re consuming too much salt.

Top signs you’re consuming too much salt:
• Edema (in the eyes, hands, feet, or lower legs)
• Thirst
• High blood pressure
• Headache
• Restlessness
• Irritability
• Nausea
• Fatigue

Top signs of sodium deficiency:
• Weakness
• Low blood pressure
• An increase in neurotransmitters
• Vascular stiffness and high blood pressure
• Insulin resistance

In my opinion, the most common cause of high blood pressure is insulin resistance. Many things can contribute to insulin resistance, including a high-carb diet, intermittent fasting, and a low-sodium diet.

The most common treatment for high blood pressure is diuretics. But, diuretics can cause you to lose both sodium and potassium.

People who are salt sensitive or who have symptoms of a sodium deficiency are really deficient in potassium. Sodium and potassium work together in the body, and you need twice as much potassium as you do sodium. The average person needs 2300mg of sodium and 4700mg of potassium per day.

The more carbohydrates you have in your diet, the more potassium you’ll lock up, making it unavailable. It’s important for people with diabetes to get on a low-carb diet and consume foods high in potassium or a good electrolyte powder.

We need sodium in our diets, but not just sodium chloride—we need the whole mineral balance. This is why it’s best to consume sea salt.

However, if you have high blood pressure, try consuming Baja Gold Sea Salt. This type of sea salt tastes great and has lower amounts of sodium.

2:07 What to do about low sodium symptoms
2:50 Why sodium supports your energy
4:53 How to bulletproof your immune system (free course!)

In this video, we’re going to talk about the first symptom of a salt deficiency. The first symptom of sodium deficiency is feeling weak or tired.

Fun facts: Salad in Latin means salted greens. Salary in Latin means salt.

You should never consume refined salt. Instead, have organic sea salt. Refined salt only contains sodium chloride—it doesn’t contain the other vital minerals.

One role of sodium in the body is to create hydrochloric acid (HCL) to help digest protein, break down minerals, and kill off pathogens. Many people are low in HCL because they don’t consume enough salt.

The average person needs a minimum of 1 tsp. of sea salt per day. If you exercise or do keto, you will need more than this.

Low sodium diets that have you drinking lots of water can dilute the salt and flush it from your body, leaving you deficient in sodium. Additionally, a high-carb diet can cause you to retain sodium in the wrong places.

If you notice that you feel weak or tired, try increasing your sodium and see if the problems go away.

An electrolyte powder can help replenish your sodium and other electrolytes.

Sodium is crucial for normal energy levels because it…
• Excites the cardiac muscle
• Regulates calcium
• Is involved in the sodium-potassium pump
• Is vital to creating energy in the mitochondria

One last fun fact—sea water is virtually identical to the watery portion of your blood!

In summary, make sure you have enough sodium in your diet by having at least one teaspoon of organic sea salt a day to support healthy energy levels and other low-sodium symptoms.

Summary:
1. Dehydration
If you are careless about your water intake, sodium has all the more potential to dehydrate you. Either you increase your water consumption, or cut back on salt.

2. Bloating Along With Swelling
Do you hate the puffy face you get the next day after binge eating high sodium junk food? Many of us try avoiding junk before parties, so we don’t end up with the bloated face.

3. Kidney Stones
The most common advice anyone with kidney stones gets is to keep drinking plenty of fluids. Have you ever thought about why? It turns out fluid intake not only helps them flush stones out, but it also prevents the formation of renal stones in the first place.

4. High Blood Pressure
The answer lies with your kidneys. Indiscriminate salt intake makes it difficult for them to keep up with excess sodium. And when sodium concentration increases, your body starts holding on to the water in an attempt to dilute extra sodium.

5. Risk Of Stomach Cancer Increases
Stomach cancer is the fifth most common cancer in the world. It’s important to eliminate its risks as much as we can through diet.

The Health Benefits of Drinking Baking Soda Water Every Day

Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, has been used for thousands of years, dating back to the Ancient Egyptians, who used it for natural cleansing and even making soap. Over time, it became widely used in cooking as a leavening agent, but its health benefits go far beyond the kitchen.

Interestingly, the human body naturally produces sodium bicarbonate in the pancreas and bile ducts to aid digestion and regulate pH balance. Because of this, many people drink baking soda water to support their overall health

In this video, you’ll learn about the benefits of baking soda water for digestion, detoxification, muscle recovery and so much more. You’ll also find out how to use it properly, when it can be beneficial, and when it’s best to avoid it.

What are the Benefits of Baking Soda?
What are the Benefits of Baking Soda? Side Effects 3 Views • 5 months ago

Baking soda has long been marketed as a multi-use substance, great for tasks around the house and for easing ailments of various sorts. Its superpower is that, because it’s an alkaline, when it’s mixed with an acid, it changes the pH level. What’s pH? What are the benefits of baking soda?

To learn more, check out the full article
https://integrisok.com/bakingsoda

pH stands for ‘power of hydrogen.’ Measured numerically on a scale of 0 to 14, pH levels in the range of 0 to 5 are acids, 5 to 7 are neutral and higher than 8 means a substance is alkaline. Alkaline substances absorb acid. Baking soda, the star of today’s story, clocks a pH of about 8.3.

That’s great! But what does that mean? Here are some uses for baking soda:

Add it to your oral hygiene routine. Brushing your teeth with baking soda-laced toothpaste can thwart tooth decay and help keep your mouth and gums healthy.

Soothe a bug bite or sting.

Calm an upset stomach. An excess of acid is often the culprit when indigestion strikes. Calm it down by drinking a glass of water mixed with baking soda. talk to your pediatrician before giving it to anyone younger than six years old.

Wash your face. Baking soda can help remove oils when used in a facial wash and can be a beneficial part of your overall skin care routine.

Natural deodorant. The premise is this: human sweat by itself doesn’t stink. It only becomes funky after the bacteria in your armpits start to break it down into acidic waste, which brings with it a distinct aroma. By decreasing acidity, baking soda eliminates that sweaty smell.

Help chemotherapy work. Research has shown that baking soda can help some cancer treatments work more efficiently. Certain types of chemotherapy need alkaline conditions to perform.

Around the house, baking soda can help you keep things clean without harsh commercial products or chemicals:

Clean your sink. Baking soda is a mild abrasive, so it will scrub without scratching.

Removes pesticide from fruits and vegetables.

Freshening. An open box of baking soda in your refrigerator (or any stinky spot in the house) will absorb odors.

Clean silver jewelry.
Deodorize carpets and mattresses.

To learn more about baking soda, you can read the full article on the INTEGRIS Health For You blog at integrisok.com/foryou. If you have any topics you’d like to hear from us in the future, please let us know. We would love to hear from you. Have a great day!

2:16 Remedies for acid reflux
3:08 Side effects of sodium bicarbonate
3:53 Bulletproof your immune system *free course!

A lot of people take baking soda for acid reflux. Is this good or bad?

The stomach should be extremely acid with a pH between 1-3. This is normal. You need your stomach acids to be at that pH to digest proteins, kill microbes, and absorb minerals.

When food goes through the stomach and then into the small intestine, the pancreas releases bicarbonate.

Our bodies are supposed to have bicarbonate in the small intestine, not the stomach, to neutralize the stomach acid so it doesn’t damage the small intestine. Bicarbonates are alkaline.

Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate. If you’re putting baking soda into your stomach, you’re going to mess up your digestion down the road.

Instead of just trying to treat the symptoms, you need to ask yourself why you might be getting acid reflux to begin with.

Normally, the valve at the top of the stomach isn’t shutting, so the stomach acid is going up into the esophagus. This could happen due to a vitamin B1 deficiency or because you don’t have enough stomach acid. The valve actually closes if you have enough stomach acid.

Taking apple cider vinegar or betaine hydrochloride can help increase stomach acid and potentially help with acid reflux. A combination of betaine hydrochloride and zinc carnosine may also be effective.

Potential side effects of taking too much sodium bicarbonate over time:
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Kidney damage
• Depressed breathing
• Worsened cardiac heart failure
• Cerebral hemorrhage
• Calcium deficiency
• Potassium deficiency
• Belching/bloating

Sodium bicarbonate is an alkaline compound made naturally by the pancreas to help neutralize stomach acid as it enters the small intestine. A poorly functioning pancreas can result in bloating, diarrhea, and constipation.

Baking soda can work as a temporary solution for an acid stomach, but not for indigestion! Indigestion is caused by low stomach acid, so baking soda would only worsen the problem. Apple cider vinegar and betaine hydrochloride can help with indigestion.

GERD and acid reflux are also related to low stomach acid, but baking soda can help temporarily. ACV and betaine hydrochloride are better long-term solutions. Baking soda can also help with gastritis, but it should be taken with zinc carnosine for this problem.

Stomach acid should be highly acidic with a pH between 1 and 3. Drinking baking soda for long periods can neutralize your stomach acid, inhibiting your ability to digest protein, absorb B12, and absorb minerals. Low stomach acid can also lower your ability to kill microbes and pathogens in your food.

Baking soda neutralizes the acid in your mouth and is an excellent addition to toothpaste. It can also help relieve itching related to a kidney problem and enhance athletic performance!

Baking soda consumption can help prevent kidney stones and can also be helpful if you have a UTI.

Baking soda can be used topically for certain insect bites, especially for fire ant bites and bee stings. It can also be used as pest control for insects like cockroaches.

Don't take baking soda with vinegar or lemon juice! This creates a significant amount of carbon dioxide, which can leave you feeling bloated.

In this video, we’re going to talk about the dangers of using baking soda. Many people get relief from things like acid reflux when they consume baking soda, but this isn't the best long-term solution.

The stomach helps you digest proteins, absorb minerals, and kill pathogens. It’s designed to produce acid and should normally be very acidic with a pH between 1 and 3. Reflux occurs when your stomach acid becomes more alkaline.

Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, is very alkaline. When you consume baking soda for reflux, you may feel better temporarily, but you’re not addressing the root problem. This could actually cause your reflux to worsen over time.

Apple cider vinegar and betaine hydrochloride are much more effective remedies for acid reflux.

Here are some of the long-term baking soda side effects:
• Alkalizes the stomach (creating problems with protein digestion, mineral absorption, and the ability to kill pathogens)
• Depletes potassium reserve
• Decreased chlorides
• High levels of sodium

Baking soda can be used for toothpaste or used topically for bug bites and poison ivy. If you want to take baking soda orally, make sure that you aren't using it for a long period of time.

Psoriasis: THIS IS MY STORY‼️ #psoriasis #mystory #skyrizi #healthjourney #plantbasedlife
Psoriasis: THIS IS MY STORY‼️ #psoriasis #mystory #skyrizi #healthjourney #plantbasedlife Side Effects 3 Views • 5 months ago

Y'ALL! It was SO hard to try to condense my story down into a 1:30 reel, but I tried my best! The last 3 years with this has been CRAZY! I hope to record a longer format of this video on YouTube because I have SO much to say! This week has been monumental in this journey as I release myself from the medicine I've been on the past 3 years. I am truly grateful🙌🏽🙏🏽 #psoriasis #mystory #skyrizi #healthjourney #plantbasedlife #sukisession

Side Notes: Before the Pandemic, my health was in a good place. Eating majority healthy, working out 3-5 times a week etc. When everything shut down in March 2020, I started eating like crap every day, drinking almost every day, gyms were closed, wasn't working out, was barely sleeping and was stressing about the Pandemic. This created the perfect storm for the psoriasis to manifest. I had completely trashed my gut which houses 80% of our immune system.

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease which is when your body basically attacks itself. It can't tell the difference between foreign cells and your own cells. Lifestyle choices can affect this and most autoimmune diseases can be reversed! Changing all aspects of my life and going plant-based have put me a great position to avoid this happening to me again.

Skyrizi is a super powerful drug with side effects of course. The biggest being that it weakens your immune system and leaves you susceptible to so much. Imagine being on a medicine like this through a Global Pandemic!! #psoriasis #skyrizi #rash

Skyrizi is a prescription medication that's helping many people manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life.

Skyrizi was first FDA approved in 2019. It may be used to treat plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis in adults.

Skyrizi is a biologic medicine that’s also called an interleukin-23 antagonist. It works by attaching to the protein in the body called interleukin-23 or IL-23, which is involved in inflammation. By blocking IL-23, Skyrizi helps reduce inflammation, which improves the symptoms related to psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis.

After the first few doses, you only need to get Skyrizi every 8-12 weeks. It may be given as an intravenous infusion or injected under the skin. For injections under the skin, it comes in prefilled pens, syringes, and cartridges for use with an on-body injector.

Common side effects of Skyrizi include upper respiratory infections, headache, injection site reactions, urinary tract infections, fungal skin infections, low red blood cells, fever, joint pain, back pain, and feeling tired.

Skyrizi 101: Uses, Dosing, Side Effects, Cost Concerns (Plus - Does It Really Cause Weight Loss?)
Skyrizi 101: Uses, Dosing, Side Effects, Cost Concerns (Plus - Does It Really Cause Weight Loss?) Side Effects 3 Views • 5 months ago

11 Natural Therapies (Outside of Drugs And Surgery) That Actually Work [free checklist]: https://curtis-alexander.com/

Skyrizi is used to treat psoriasis.

It’s mechanism of action is that it's an interleukin blocker. What that means is that eventually it's going to decrease the number of cytokines and chemokines that are produced in your body.

These substances are basically signaling proteins that lead to inflammation in your body.

Dosage

Skyrizi has a unique dosing schedule.

First of all Skyrizi comes in a 75 mg strength that you inject subcutaneously. You give two injections or 150 mg on day one, then you give 150 mg 4 weeks later, then you start giving 150 mg every 12 weeks.

The first month of dosing is what's referred to as a “loading dose”. The idea is to get your blood levels up a little higher earlier on and then level you out with the every 12 week dosing

Side Effects

Skyrizi does have some side effects that you need to be aware of.

First of all you can develop antibodies to use in Skyizi. This means that your body begins to develop antibodies to the drug and it can become less effective the longer you use it. You can see this in up to 24% of people who use it.

About 14% of people who use it can develop neutralizing antibodies. These types of antibodies actually make the drug ineffective.

The other type of side effect you can see is higher infection rates.

Remember Skyrizi acts on chemokines and cytokines. While they are involved in the inflammatory process remember that inflammation isn't always a bad thing. Part of your immune response involves inflammation. So when you knock that down it can lead to more infections.

You can see higher infection rate in up to 22% of users. Some of the more common infections tend to be upper respiratory tract infections and fungal infections.

I also warn people that you can see headaches in a small group of users as well as fatigue. But again these are only 3% to 4% of users.

One of the other things I get asked is if Skyrizi can cause weight loss?

It's actually not listed as one of the potential side effects for the drug. But keep in mind if you find that you're losing weight pay attention to if you are getting any sort of infections. If you're not feeling well because of infection there can be weight loss. But as far as Skyrizi directly affecting weight loss I think it's a long shot.

Because the drug can affect your immune system your doctor is likely going to monitor your labs throughout your use. I'll also test you for tuberculosis and monitor that as well.

How Long Does It Take To Work?

Skyrizi takes 3 to 14 days to reach peak blood levels. That doesn't mean it will take that long to start working. You may notice changes sooner.

But as far as peak effectiveness you're probably going to be looking at giving yourself at least a week or two on the medication to notice a change.

One of the biggest issues you see with people who want to use Skyrizi is that it costs quite a bit of money.

Sometimes we don't have any issues getting it through insurance other times you will. If that's the case you may want to look into financial assistance.

Here's a link to Skyrizi’s financial assistance program check it out see if you qualify: https://www.abbvie.com/patient....s/patient-assistance
