Sandstone Care prescribes two FDA-approved drugs to treat opioid use disorder: buprenorphine (Suboxone and Subutex are common brands) and naltrexone (Vivitrol and Revia are common brands). There are lots of beta-blockers out there and they're really good for heart conditions and high blood pressure. They can also be used for glaucoma.

Common ones include bisoprolol, atenolol, labetalol, carvedilol, metoprolol, propranolol, sotalol. You might also know them by their brand names: Tenormin, Cardicor, Emcor, Betaloc, Lopressor, Nebilet, Angilol and Inderal.

As always we go through things in simple terms and then for the hardcore nerds we're into the complex stuff.

You'll learn about how these drugs act on the beta adrenoreceptors in your body - that's where adrenaline, noradrenaline (or epinephrine and norepinephrine) bind.
