Dangerous Side Effects
Do you feel like your thyroid medication just isn't working as it should? Do you still have symptoms of low thyroid even though you are taking your thyroid medication faithfully? It could be that your dose is just not high enough and that you need to increase it.
This problem is actually more common than you might think.
It's been estimated that as many as 25-30% of thyroid patients may be taking too much thyroid medication at any given time. We don't know the numbers for how many people are not taking enough but it's probably safe to assume that it's at least equal to the number of people taking too much.
This promotes a big problem for thyroid patients because you simply won't feel better if your dose is not sufficient.
The good news? There are ways to determine just based on your symptoms if your dose is too low.
Let's talk about those right now.
Signs that your thyroid medication dose is too low include:
#1. Gaining weight despite taking your thyroid medication every day
#2. Fatigue that is getting worse or doesn’t get better
#3. Hair loss that either gets worse or persists
#4. Continued constipation (may get slightly better or worse)
#5. Cold intolerance that persists
#6. Continued menstrual problems (may also get worse with some thyroid medication)
#7. Depression and/or anxiety that persists or get worse
#8. Pain in the joints/muscles
#9. Dry skin
Do you feel that your dose of thyroid medication is optimized? Or do you think it needs to be adjusted?

Most people are aware that vitamin C is one of the most important vitamins you need to stay healthy. Your body uses vitamin C to build blood vessels, cartilage, muscle, and collagen in bones. Vitamin C is also vital to the healing process. And even though nutritionists say you don't need vitamin C supplements if you maintain a reasonably healthy diet, vitamin C capsules, tabs, and powders continue to be huge sellers in health food stores and online.
Which brings up a series of questions. How much vitamin C do you really need? Can you take too much vitamin C? How much vitamin C in a day is too much? What happens if you get too much vitamin C? Are there side effects if you overdo vitamin C intake? This video answers those questions.
Do you know anyone who takes too much vitamin C? Do they sometimes experience the side effects described in this video? Feel free to comment below.

As recent discoveries have the potential to change the paradigm of how MPN and MDS are diagnosed and treated, it is imperative that healthcare professionals who treat these diseases are provided expert review of the most pertinent clinical data pertaining to prognosis, diagnosis, therapy and disease management and guidance for their optimal integration into everyday clinical practice.
The US Focus on Myeloproliferative Neoplasms and Myelodysplastic Syndromes 2015 provides a platform to resolve many of the clinical challenges for diagnosis and treatment through presentations and interactive discussions of the latest clinical and research findings pertaining to MPN and MDS. Topics that will be deliberated include updates in therapeutic interventions of MDS, polycythemia vera, essential thrombocytopenia and myelofibrosis.
In this presentation, Dr. Olatoyois Odenike discusses why hydroxyurea is the first line therapy option in the United States for essential thromobcythemia instead of anagrelide or interferon.
