How to use it?
Tablet: Swallow the tablet completely with half a glass of water.
Duration of treatment:
If Nortriptyline has no effect within 6-7 weeks, it is probably not effective for you. Your prescribing doctor will most likely prescribe you another antidepressant. What is the correct dosage?
Unfortunately I can’t provide you with specific dosages, as these differ a lot depending on the specific indication of use, the side effects you experience and the severity of your complaints.
Furthermore, your maintenance dose will be adapted overtime based on the blood levels of Nortriptyline you will be having and your symptoms.
Therefore always use the precise amount and frequency your doctor prescribed you.
However the usual starting dose most doctors prescribing for treating a depression is 25mg 2-3x/day or 50mg 1x/day. If needed you doctor will gradually increase the dose to a maximum of 150mg 1x/day or 50mg 2-3x/day.
What are common the side-effects?

Nortriptyline and Amitriptyline are from a very old-fashioned group of medication called the tricyclic antidepressants. They are rarely now used for low mood or depression and are more commonly used to manage chronic pain conditions.

This is not a normal cancer. Carcinoid tumors are rare, with only 27 new cases per million diagnosed in the U.S. per year.
Standard treatment is surgery to remove the entire tumor. Octreotide is not a cancer treatment. It is used as a growth inhibitor and may help with symptoms of Carcinoid syndrome. Carcinoid syndrome occurs in very few people with carcinoid tumors, after the tumor has spread to the liver or lung.
These tumors release too much of the hormone serotonin, as well as several other chemicals. The hormones cause the blood vessels to open (dilate). This causes carcinoid syndrome.
