Did you know that without enough zinc, you will die? Over 200 to 300 different enzymes in your body require zinc!

Avoid these 4 big zinc supplement mistakes!

1. Taking too much zinc
Zinc and copper work together and compete for absorption. Always take copper with zinc to avoid a copper deficiency.

Some parts of the immune system benefit from high doses of zinc, while others thrive with just the right amount of zinc. Taking 100 to 200 mg of zinc for 3 days is beneficial if you have an inflammatory infection, but high doses of zinc for extended periods can also be damaging. Know when to take zinc and avoid high doses for long periods.

2. No cofactors taken with zinc
Cofactors are vitamins and minerals that work together to allow our biochemistry to work. For zinc to function properly in the body, you need adequate magnesium, vitamin B6, and folate.

3. Not knowing when you’re deficient
White nail spots can sometimes indicate a zinc deficiency, but how can you know for sure if you’re deficient? Try the zinc test! Take a small amount of zinc in your mouth and swish it around. If you can taste the metallic taste, you are not deficient. If you can’t taste anything, you need more zinc.

4. Taking too little zinc
Taking too little zinc is just as bad as taking too much! Carbohydrates contain phytic acid, which blocks zinc. This is why zinc deficiency is so common in children. Diarrhea can deplete zinc and other minerals, and low stomach acid can inhibit mineral absorption. Alcohol, pregnancy, and high estrogen from birth control pills can also increase your demand for zinc.

Red meat, shellfish, liver, and oysters are the best sources of zinc. If you opt for supplements, you must take at least 30 mg of zinc daily for a therapeutic effect. Zinc works best when taken with food, but it still works on an empty stomach.

The Dark Side of Zinc for Hair: Vital Tip for Hair Growth

If you’re experiencing hair loss or other problems with your hair, you might be consuming too much zinc. Learn more!

Check out Dr Berg's Zinc product with the blend of trace minerals. You can search in on amazon under Dr Berg's Trace Minerals or go to drberg.com. This product has not only zinc but copper as well in a blend of all trace minerals.

0:00 Introduction: The dark side of zinc

2:13 Symptoms of too much zinc related to your hair
3:15 Zinc dosage
3:35 Zinc toxicity symptoms
4:58 How much zinc do you need?
6:50 Learn more about zinc!

Let’s talk about the dark side of zinc. Zinc is one of the most important trace minerals for your hair. But having too much zinc can be just as damaging to your hair as zinc deficiency.

Zinc is a trace mineral, and it’s involved in over 300 different enzymes. Zinc is needed to support the growth of hair follicles. With low zinc, you could experience hair loss.

Zinc is also needed for collagen and keratin. If you're deficient in zinc, you could notice thin and brittle hair.

Having too much zinc can lead to copper deficiency. The more zinc you take, the more copper you need. Copper is also involved in hair growth, hair color, and the structural integrity of the hair.

The most zinc an adult could take without experiencing any side effects is roughly about 40 mg per day.

Symptoms of zinc toxicity can include:
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Decreased appetite
• Abdominal cramps
• Diarrhea
• Headaches

But, you may need even higher amounts of zinc short-term for certain health problems. The key is to make sure you always consume enough copper as well. The correct zinc-to-copper ratio is roughly ten to one.

It’s important to remember that when you consume foods high in zinc, your body only absorbs 20 to 40 percent of it. There are a lot of various things that decrease the absorption of zinc.

It’s important to avoid things that prevent the absorption of zinc and consume foods high in zinc. You may also want to consider a zinc supplement as well as make sure you're getting plenty of copper.

- Zinc is a naturally occurring mineral. It is called an "essential trace element" because very small amounts of zinc are necessary for human health.

- Zinc helps the immune system fight off bacteria and viruses, is important for wound healing, blood clotting, thyroid function, and is important for proper senses of taste and smell. The body also needs zinc to make proteins and DNA, the genetic materials in cells.

Azithromycin 250 MG Tablet | Usage, Dosage, & Side Effects | Dr. Eilbra Younan
Azithromycin 250 MG Tablet | Usage, Dosage, & Side Effects | Dr. Eilbra Younan Side Effects 2 Views • 5 months ago

Azithromycin, also known by its brand names Zithromax and Z-Pak, is a powerful antibiotic designed to combat bacterial infections. This medication works by stopping the growth of bacteria, helping your body fight off infections like bronchitis, pneumonia, ear infections, and other bacterial conditions.

How to Take Azithromycin:

•Standard Dosage: The typical course is five days long. On the first day, you'll take two tablets (a total of 500 mg), often referred to as the "loading dose." This helps the medication quickly reach effective levels in your system. For the next four days, you'll take one tablet (250 mg) each day to complete your treatment.

•Taking Your Medication: You can take Azithromycin with or without food, and there are no dairy restrictions. To get the best results, take it at the same time each day and complete the entire course. Stopping early can lead to a return of the infection or antibiotic resistance.

Common Side Effects:

Azithromycin is generally well-tolerated, but it can cause some side effects. The most common ones include:

•Digestive Issues: Diarrhea (4-5%), nausea (3%), and stomach pain (2-3%).
•Allergic Reactions: Redness, rash, or swelling.
•Irregular Heartbeat: This is rare, but if you experience any irregular heartbeats, seek medical attention immediately.

What to Do if You Have an Allergic Reaction:

Allergic reactions to Azithromycin are rare, but they can happen. If you notice any signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing, stop taking the medication and contact your doctor right away.

Azithromycin can be an effective treatment for bacterial infections when used correctly. Always follow your doctor's instructions, and don't forget to complete the full course of medication to ensure the infection is completely cleared. If you have any questions or concerns, consult your healthcare provider for advice.

Azithromycin may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication video.

Warnings of Azithromycin.

You should not use azithromycin if you have ever had jaundice or liver problems when you have previously taken this medicine.

Before taking this medicine.

You should not use azithromycin if you are allergic to it, or if:

you have ever had jaundice or liver problems caused by taking azithromycin; or

you are allergic to similar drugs such as clarithromycin, erythromycin, or telithromycin.

To make sure azithromycin is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had:

liver disease;

kidney disease;

myasthenia gravis;

a heart rhythm disorder;

low levels of potassium in your blood; or

long QT syndrome (in you or a family member).

This medicine is not expected to harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.

It is not known whether azithromycin passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

How should I take azithromycin?.

Take azithromycin exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. The dose and length of treatment may not be the same for every type of infection.

You may take most forms of azithromycin with or without food.

Take Zmax extended release liquid (oral suspension) on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction to azithromycin: (hives, difficult breathing, swelling in your face or throat) or a severe skin reaction (fever, sore throat, burning in your eyes, skin pain, red or purple skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling).

Seek medical treatment if you have a serious drug reaction that can affect many parts of your body. Symptoms may include: skin rash, fever, swollen glands, flu-like symptoms, muscle aches, severe weakness, unusual bruising, or yellowing of your skin or eyes. Common azithromycin side effects may include:

diarrhea;

nausea, vomiting, stomach pain; or

headache.

This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur.

What other drugs will affect azithromycin?.

Ondansetron, marketed under the brand name Zofran, is a serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist used primarily to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery.

Mechanism of Action
Ondansetron works by blocking the action of serotonin at the 5-HT3 receptors, which are located in the vagal nerve terminals and chemoreceptor trigger zone in the brain. By inhibiting serotonin from binding to these receptors, it helps prevent nausea and vomiting.

Indications
Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting (CINV): Used to prevent nausea and vomiting associated with highly emetogenic chemotherapy.

Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting (PONV): Administered before anesthesia or immediately after surgery to prevent nausea and vomiting.

Radiation-Induced Nausea and Vomiting (RINV): Used to prevent nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing total body irradiation or single high-dose fraction therapy to the abdomen.

Administration
Oral: Tablets, orally disintegrating tablets (ODT), and oral solution.

Intravenous (IV): Administered as an IV infusion.

Intramuscular (IM): Administered as an IM injection.

Dosage
Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting: 8 mg orally before chemotherapy, followed by 8 mg every 12 hours for 1-2 days.

Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting: 4 mg IV/IM before anesthesia or 16 mg orally 1 hour before anesthesia.

Radiation-Induced Nausea and Vomiting: 8 mg orally 1-2 hours before radiation therapy.

Side Effects
Common: Headache, constipation, and dizziness.

Serious: QT prolongation, which can lead to arrhythmias such as torsade de pointes.

Precautions
QT Prolongation: Patients with a history of QT prolongation or those taking other medications that prolong the QT interval should use ondansetron with caution.

Renal and Hepatic Impairment: Dosage adjustments may be necessary for patients with severe renal or hepatic impairment.

Zolpidem (Ambien): What You Need To Know
Zolpidem (Ambien): What You Need To Know Side Effects 2 Views • 5 months ago

Zolpidem is a widely used hypnotic that operates at the GABAa receptor. Compared to benzodiazepines, it produces less anxiolysis, muscle relaxation, and anticonvulsant action.

At medical doses, it produces little beyond sedation and the negative effects are mild. Due to personal variation, effects like euphoria, CEVs/OEVs, and anxiolysis are rarely noted at only 10 mg. Those effects appear more often (though still not reliably) at common to strong doses.

It is effective at improving sleep onset, though the instant-release version isn't very effective at maintaining sleep throughout the night.

ZOPICLONE (IMOVANE): Review, Uses, Side Effects, Mechanism of Action
ZOPICLONE (IMOVANE): Review, Uses, Side Effects, Mechanism of Action Side Effects 2 Views • 5 months ago

ZOPICLONE (IMOVANE): Review-Uses-Side Effects- Mechanism of Action- Withdrawal- For Insomnia Anxiety

What is zopiclone used for?
Zopiclone is a type of sleeping pill that can be taken to treat bad bouts of insomnia. It helps you fall asleep more quickly, and also helps stop you waking up during the night. Zopiclone comes as tablets.

How does zopiclone work?
Zopiclone boosts the effectiveness of a chemical in the brain called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).
GABA blocks transmission across nerves in the brain and has a calming effect.

Is zopiclone good for anxiety?
Zopiclone reduces day time anxiety; has low frequency of rebound insomnia.

What are the side effects of taking Zopiclone?
SIDE EFFECTS: Daytime drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, bitter taste, dry mouth, headache or stomach upset may occur the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor.

Is zopiclone a narcotic?
Zopiclone, sold under the brand name Imovane among others, is a nonbenzodiazepine used to treat difficulty sleeping. Zopiclone is molecularly distinct from benzodiazepine drugs and is classed as a cyclopyrrolone.

What does zopiclone do to the brain?
Zopiclone is a type of medicine called a non-benzodiazepine hypnotic. It acts in the brain to aid sleep. Zopiclone works by increasing the activity of a neurotransmitter called GABA in the brain.

Does zopiclone knock you out?
Mental effects Zopiclone helps you sleep, though users who manage to stay awake on it can feel drowsy and calm.

Is it okay to take Zopiclone every night?
You can take zopiclone with or without food. It's important to take it exactly as your doctor has told you. You could be asked to take a tablet on only 2 or 3 nights each week, rather than every night.

Who should not take Zopiclone?
Zopiclone 7.5mg tablets is contraindicated in patients with myasthenia gravis, respiratory failure, severe sleep apnoea syndrome, severe hepatic insufficiency and those people with a hypersensitivity to zopiclone or to any of the excipients. As with all hypnotics, Zopiclone 7.5mg tablets should not be used in children.

Why is zopiclone banned in US?
Lunesta 3 mg had an impairing effect almost as large as zopiclone 7.5 mg, a similar insomnia drug. Zopiclone, which is not approved in the United States, causes consistent psychomotor impairment such that it is often used as a positive control in driving impairment studies.

Does zopiclone make you tired the next day?
Precautions – while you are taking zopiclone
Extra care is needed when taking zopiclone because it can cause sleepiness and affect your concentration the next day.

Is zopiclone linked to dementia?
According to manufacturers' literature, memory loss has been reported shortly after taking zopiclone. The incidence of these reactions is known to be rare and may be more likely to occur in elderly patients.

What is a good substitute for Zopiclone?
Eszopiclone, a stereoisomer of zopiclone, is a non-benzodiazepine hypnotic agent of the cyclopyrrolone family. Similar to zopiclone, eszopiclone is a synthetic compound shown to be effective in treating insomnia

What is the maximum zopiclone you can take?
Zopiclone is typically prescribed in the range of 5 mg to 7.5 mg daily and at 3.75 mg daily for the elderly. While zopiclone is a highly effective sleep aid, there is controversy about the extent of its addiction potential.

How long does Zopiclone 3.75 take to wear off?
The lowest effective dose should be used. Zopiclone should be taken in a single dose and not re-administered during the same night. Treatment with zopiclone should be as short as possible.

How many hours sleep with Zopiclone?
Zopiclone can affect your recent memory, especially if you do not go to bed just after taking it, or if your sleep gets interrupted. Make sure that you can get seven to eight hours of uninterrupted sleep if you are going to take zopiclone.

What happens when you stop taking Zopiclone?
Stopping zopiclone suddenly may cause withdrawal side effects. After taking zopiclone for insomnia, you may have difficulty sleeping (rebound insomnia) for the first few nights after you stop taking it.

What are the side effects of long term use of zopiclone?
Over the long term, zopiclone abuse can result in symptoms including chest pain; heart palpitations; nightmares; amnesia; abdominal pain; constipation; sinusitis; sore throat; dry mouth; lethargy; back pain; flu-like symptoms

Is it safe to take Zopiclone long term?
Zopiclone and some benzodiazepines, such as temazepam and triazolam, are indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia. Long-term use of these medicines should be avoided

What drugs interact with Zopiclone?
alcohol.
amiodarone.
anti-anxiety medications (e.g., alprazolam, clonazepam, lorazepam)

ACYCLOVIR, What is acyclovir used for, Acyclovir (ZOVIRAX, SITAVIG) review
ACYCLOVIR, What is acyclovir used for, Acyclovir (ZOVIRAX, SITAVIG) review Side Effects 2 Views • 5 months ago

Acyclovir review, aciclovir: What is acyclovir, what is acyclovir used for, acyclovir uses, acyclovir dosage, acyclovir side effects, acyclovir moa, acyclovir brand names: Sitavig, Zovirax Capsules, Zovirax tablets.

What is acyclovir? and What is acyclovir used for?

Acyclovir is used to decrease pain and speed the healing of sores or blisters in people who have varicella (chickenpox), herpes zoster (shingles; a rash that can occur in people who have had chickenpox in the past), and first-time or repeat outbreaks of genital herpes (a herpes virus infection that causes sores to form around the genitals and rectum from time to time).
Acyclovir is also sometimes used to prevent outbreaks of genital herpes in people who are infected with the virus.
Acyclovir is in a class of antiviral medications called synthetic nucleoside analogues. It works by stopping the spread of the herpes virus in the body.
Acyclovir will not cure genital herpes and may not stop the spread of genital herpes to other people.

How to use acyclovir?

Acyclovir comes as a tablet, a capsule, and a suspension (liquid) to take by mouth. It also comes as a delayed-release buccal tablet to apply to the upper gum of the mouth.
The tablets, capsules, and suspension are usually taken with or without food two to five times a day for 5 to 10 days, starting as soon as possible after your symptoms begin.
When acyclovir is used to prevent outbreaks of genital herpes, it is usually taken two to five times a day for up to 12 months.
The delayed-release buccal tablet is usually applied with a dry finger as a one-time dose within 1 hour after itching, redness, burning or tingling cold sore symptoms begin but before the cold sore appears.
Take or use acyclovir at around the same time(s) every day.
Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.
Take or use acyclovir exactly as directed.
Do not take or use more or less of it or take it more often or for a longer time than prescribed by your doctor.

Do not chew, crush, suck, or swallow the delayed-release buccal tablets. Drink plenty of liquids, if you have a dry mouth while using the delayed-release buccal tablets.

To use buccal acyclovir, follow these steps:

Find the area on the upper gum above your left and right incisor teeth (the teeth just to the left and right of your two front teeth).

With dry hands, remove one delayed-release tablet from the container.

Gently apply the tablet to the upper gum area as high as it will go on your gum above one of your incisor teeth on the side of your mouth with the cold sore. Do not apply it to the inside of the lip or cheek.

Hold the tablet in place for 30 seconds.

If the tablet does not stick to your gum or if it sticks to your cheek or the inside of your lip, reposition it to stick to your gum.
Leave the tablet in place until it dissolves.

Do not interfere with the placement of the tablet.
Check to see if the tablet is still in place after eating, drinking, or rinsing your mouth.

If the delayed-release buccal tablet comes off within the first 6 hours of application, reapply the same tablet.
If it still will not stick, then apply a new tablet. If you accidentally swallow the tablet within the first 6 hours of application, drink a glass of water and place a new tablet on your gum. If the tablet falls off or is swallowed 6 or more hours after application, do not apply a new tablet until your next regular time.

Avoid the following while you are using acyclovir buccal delayed-release tablet:

Do not chew gum, touch, or press the buccal tablet after it has been applied.
Do not wear upper dentures.
Do not brush your teeth until it dissolves. If your teeth need to be cleaned while the tablet is in place, rinse the mouth gently.

Shake the suspension well before each use to mix the medication evenly.

Your symptoms should improve during your treatment with acyclovir.
Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse.

Take or use acyclovir until you finish the prescription, even if you feel better. If you stop taking acyclovir too soon or skip doses, your infection may not be completely treated or may become more difficult to treat.
The delayed-release buccal tablet is applied as a one-time dose.

Acyclovir may cause side effects.
Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

upset stomach.
vomiting.
diarrhea.
dizziness.
tiredness.
agitation.
