13:50 Learn more about the best diet for seizures!

Today I want to share some important information for those of you who experience seizures.

Common triggers of seizures:
• Fever
• Head injury
• Brain infection
• Choking
• Alcohol
• Drug withdrawal
• Extremely low blood sugar
• Drugs
• Toxins
• Stress
• High blood pressure

Data shows that keto is effective in eliminating seizures by a factor of 50 to 70 percent. But it's important to be on the healthy version of the ketogenic diet. The keto diet for epilepsy also includes more fat than protein.

Ketones are a byproduct of fat. Fat and ketones are the primary fuel source that our bodies should run on—not glucose. It's also the preferred fuel source of the brain.

Top potential benefits of ketones for seizures:
• They have anticonvulsant properties
• They stabilize the excitability of the neurons
• They modulate neurotransmitters
• They support the brain, including the hippocampus
• They increase the hippocampus's mitochondrial biogenesis
• They protect the brain and neurons against oxidative stress
• They increase the ATP in the neurons to allow them to function better

In my opinion, one of the best natural alternative options for seizures is to get on the Healthy Keto® diet.

Natural ways to potentially help prevent seizures:
1. Get on the Healthy Keto diet
2. Start intermittent fasting
3. Take ketones
4. Consume foods higher in fat with moderate protein
5. Consume cod liver oil
6. Consume nutritional yeast
7. Exercise

Calquence Medication: Understanding its Benefits and Side Effects
Calquence Medication: Understanding its Benefits and Side Effects Side Effects 2 Views • 5 months ago

What is Calquence medication?.
Calquence, also known by its generic name acalabrutinib, is a medication that belongs to a class of drugs called Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitors. It was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2017 for the treatment of certain types of lymphomas, including mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). Calquence is usually prescribed for patients who have not responded well to other treatments or who have experienced a relapse.
One of the key advantages of Calquence over other BTK inhibitors is its selectivity. Calquence specifically targets BTK, a protein involved in the growth and survival of cancer cells. By inhibiting BTK, Calquence disrupts the signaling pathways that contribute to cancer cell proliferation, leading to tumor regression and improved patient outcomes.
Benefits of Calquence medication.
Calquence offers several benefits for cancer patients, particularly those with mantle cell lymphoma. One of the primary advantages is its ability to inhibit cancer cell growth. By selectively targeting BTK, Calquence disrupts the signaling pathways that promote the survival and proliferation of cancer cells. This can lead to a reduction in tumor size and potentially even complete remission in some cases.

In addition to its anti-cancer properties, Calquence is generally well-tolerated by patients. It has a favorable safety profile compared to other BTK inhibitors, with fewer reports of severe adverse effects. This makes Calquence a viable treatment option for patients who may not tolerate or respond well to other medications.
How does Calquence medication work?.
Calquence works by specifically targeting and inhibiting Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK), a protein that plays a crucial role in the survival and proliferation of cancer cells. BTK is a key component of the B-cell receptor signaling pathway, which is essential for the growth and survival of B-cell lymphomas such as mantle cell lymphoma.
When BTK is activated, it triggers a cascade of signaling events that promote cancer cell growth and survival. Calquence binds to BTK, preventing its activation and inhibiting the downstream signaling pathways. This disrupts the growth and survival signals, leading to decreased cancer cell proliferation and increased cell death.
By specifically targeting BTK, Calquence minimizes the impact on healthy cells and reduces the risk of off-target effects. This selectivity is one of the key advantages of Calquence over other BTK inhibitors, as it allows for more effective and targeted cancer treatment.
Common uses of Calquence medication.
Calquence is primarily used for the treatment of mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), a rare and aggressive type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It is usually prescribed for patients who have received at least one prior therapy and have not responded well to other treatment options.
In addition to MCL, Calquence is being investigated for its potential use in other types of lymphomas and leukemias. Clinical trials are currently underway to evaluate its efficacy and safety in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), and other B-cell malignancies.
It is important to note that Calquence should only be used under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional. Your healthcare provider will assess your specific medical condition and determine if Calquence is the appropriate treatment option for you.
Potential side effects of Calquence medication.
Like any medication, Calquence can cause side effects. However, it is important to remember that not all patients will experience these side effects, and the severity can vary from person to person. It is crucial to discuss any concerns or potential side effects with your healthcare provider before starting Calquence treatment.
Some of the common side effects associated with Calquence include nausea, diarrhea, headache, fatigue, and muscle pain. These side effects are usually mild to moderate and can be managed with supportive care measures. It is important to stay well-hydrated and follow a balanced diet to help alleviate these symptoms.

What is Acalabrutinib? and What is Acalabrutinib used for?

Brand name of acalabrutinib is Calquence.
Acalabrutinib is used to treat people with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL; a fast-growing cancer that begins in the cells of the immune system) who have already been treated with at least one other chemotherapy medication.
It is also used alone or with obinutuzumab (Gazyva) to treat chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL; a type of cancer that begins in the white blood cells) and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL: a type of cancer that begins in the white blood cells).
Acalabrutinib is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors.
It works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps stop the spread of cancer cells.

How to use Acalabrutinib?

Acalabrutinib comes as a capsule to take by mouth. It is usually taken with or without food every 12 hours (twice a day) for as long as your doctor recommends that you receive treatment.
Take acalabrutinib at around the same times every day.
Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.
Take acalabrutinib exactly as directed.
Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Swallow the capsules whole with a glass of water; do not open, chew, or break them.

Your doctor may temporarily or permanently stop your treatment or decrease your dose of acalabrutinib depending on the side effects that you experience. Be sure to talk to your doctor about how you are feeling during your treatment. Do not stop taking acalabrutinib without talking to your doctor.

Whaen to take Acalabrutinib?

Before taking acalabrutinib,

CAMZYOS® (mavacamten) is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with symptomatic obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). CAMZYOS may improve your symptoms and your ability to be active. It is not known if CAMZYOS is safe and effective in children.

WARNING: RISK OF HEART FAILURE

CAMZYOS may cause serious side effects, including:
Heart failure, a condition where the heart cannot pump with enough force, is a serious condition that can lead to death. You must have echocardiograms before you take your first dose and during your treatment with CAMZYOS to help your healthcare provider understand how your heart is responding to CAMZYOS. People who develop a serious infection or irregular heartbeat have a greater risk of heart failure during treatment with CAMZYOS. Tell your healthcare provider or get medical help right away if you develop new or worsening shortness of breath, chest pain, fatigue, swelling in your legs, a racing sensation in your heart (palpitations), or rapid weight gain.

The risk of heart failure is also increased when CAMZYOS is taken with certain other medicines. Tell your healthcare provider about the medicines you take, both prescribed and obtained over-the-counter, before and during treatment with CAMZYOS.

Because of the serious risk of heart failure, CAMZYOS is only available through a restricted program called the CAMZYOS Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) Program. Before you take CAMZYOS, you must enroll in the CAMZYOS REMS Program.

Casodex Tab (bicalutamide) : Common Uses in Prostate Cancer Management
Casodex Tab (bicalutamide) : Common Uses in Prostate Cancer Management Side Effects 2 Views • 5 months ago

What is Casodex Tab?. Casodex Tab, also known by its generic name bicalutamide, is a medication used in the treatment of prostate cancer. It belongs to a class of drugs called anti-androgens, which work by blocking the effects of androgens, such as testosterone, on the prostate gland. Casodex Tab is typically prescribed in combination with other treatments, such as surgery or radiation therapy, to maximize its effectiveness.
How does Casodex Tab work?.
Casodex Tab works by binding to androgen receptors in the body, preventing androgens from attaching to these receptors. Androgens, particularly testosterone, play a crucial role in the growth and development of the prostate gland. In prostate cancer, the cancer cells are stimulated by androgens, causing the tumor to grow. By blocking the effects of androgens, Casodex Tab helps slow down the growth of the tumor and may even cause regression in some cases.
Common uses of Casodex Tab in prostate cancer management.
Casodex Tab is commonly used in the management of prostate cancer at various stages. In early-stage prostate cancer, Casodex Tab may be used as part of a combination therapy with a luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) agonist to suppress the production of testosterone. This combination therapy is known as "combined androgen blockade" and has been shown to improve outcomes in certain patients.
In advanced prostate cancer, Casodex Tab may be used as a monotherapy to slow down the progression of the disease and relieve symptoms. It can help alleviate symptoms such as bone pain, urinary problems, and erectile dysfunction. Casodex Tab may also be used in combination with other treatments, such as radiation therapy or chemotherapy, to enhance their effectiveness.
Casodex Tab dosage and administration.
The dosage of Casodex Tab can vary depending on the individual patient and the stage of prostate cancer being treated. Typically, the recommended dose is 50 mg once daily, either in the morning or evening. It is important to take Casodex Tab exactly as prescribed by the healthcare provider and not to adjust the dosage without medical supervision.
Casodex Tab is available in tablet form and should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. It can be taken with or without food, but it is recommended to take it consistently in the same manner each day. If a dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as remembered, unless it is close to the time for the next scheduled dose.
Potential side effects of Casodex Tab.
Like any medication, Casodex Tab may cause side effects in some individuals. Common side effects include hot flashes, breast tenderness or enlargement, fatigue, decreased libido, and erectile dysfunction. These side effects are generally mild to moderate in severity and often improve over time.
In rare cases, Casodex Tab may cause more serious side effects, such as liver problems. Patients should be monitored regularly for any signs of liver dysfunction, including yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or persistent nausea and vomiting. If any concerning side effects are experienced, it is important to contact a healthcare provider for further evaluation.
Precautions and contraindications for Casodex Tab.
Before starting Casodex Tab, it is important to inform the healthcare provider about any pre-existing medical conditions or medications being taken. Casodex Tab may interact with certain medications, such as blood thinners, and precautions may need to be taken to avoid potential complications.
Casodex Tab is contraindicated in individuals who have a known allergy to bicalutamide or any of its components. It is also not recommended for use in women or children, as it is specifically indicated for the treatment of prostate cancer in men.
