Tadalafil | Cialis | Erectile Dysfunction Treatment | Cialis for ED | ED Treatment | Cialis Side-effects

Is Tadalafil same as Cialis?
Tadalafil is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor which is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It is also commonly known under the brand name Cialis.

What is Tadalafil used for?
Tadalafil works by increasing blood flow into the spongy erectile tissue of the penis that consequently allows it to grow in size and become erect and rigid. Thus, it helps in treating erectile dysfunction.

Can you take Tadalafil everyday?
Here, it is very important to consult your doctor before taking this medicine because there is rare but severe side-effects and drug interaction with other medicines.

To treat erectile dysfunction-ED, take Tadalafil orally once daily or as directed by your physician.

It is also sometimes taken once daily every day irrespective of your sexual activity timing. You may attempt sexual activity at any time between the doses. If you are taking tadalafil on a regular schedule, take it around the same time every day.
How long does Tadalafil last for?
Take Tadalafil at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. However, it is recommended to not take more than once daily.

Tadalafil side-effects:
There are many side-effects like chest pain, blood pressure changes, stomach ulcer, liver or kidney problems.

Do not take this medication without doctor’s prescription especially when you are taking medicine for heart disease. Taking Tadalafil with nitrate medicine can suddenly and severely decrease your blood pressure.

When to take Tadalafil for best results?
It is usually taken 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual activity

How much alcohol can you drink with Tadalafil?
Drinking more than a glass of wine or any other alcoholic beverages after taking Viagra could hamper your activity.

Can you take Cialis with any other medication?

If you are also taking an alpha blocker medication (such as doxazosin, tamsulosin) to treat an enlarged prostate or high blood pressure, your blood pressure may get too low which can lead to dizziness or fainting.
Some other anti fungal, antibiotic and antiviral medications can also interact with Tadalafil. So consult your doctor before taking Tadalafil if you are already on other medicines.

What should you avoid when taking Tadalafil?
If you have a previous history of allergy by taking this medicine then you should not take it again.
If you have a history of painful erection then strictly avoid this medicine
There are other conditions where you should avoid this medicine like
multiple myeloma
leukemia
sickle cell anemia
pigmentary retinopathy
hearing loss
significant uncontrolled high blood pressure
a heart attack
a sudden worsening of heart related chest pain which is called angina
narrowing of the aortic heart valve
hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
life-threatening irregular heart rhythm
chronic heart failure
a stroke
low blood pressure
liver problems
severe renal impairment
Peyronie's disease and many other conditions.

Tadalafil dosage for ED?
The usual dose for ED is 10mg once a day. Never take 2 tablets at a time

LACI-2: cilostazol and isosorbide mononitrate for the treatment of lacunar stroke
LACI-2: cilostazol and isosorbide mononitrate for the treatment of lacunar stroke Side Effects 1 Views • 5 months ago

Cilostazol and isosorbide mononitrate (ISMN) are two approved agents that have been highlighted for potential repurposing for the treatment of cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) and lacunar stroke. Cilostazol is a phosphodiesterase 3′ inhibitor used in stroke prevention and ISMN is a nitric oxide donor widely used in ischemic heart disease. Given the protective effects of these agents on the endothelium, the Lacunar Intervention Trials (LACI) set out to assess their safety and efficacy, alone and in combination, in patients with clinical lacunar ischemic stroke. LACI-1 found the medications to be well tolerated with short term use. LACI-2 expanded on these data, examining the effects of cilostazol and ISMN when given for 12 months. Joanna Wardlaw, CBE, MD, FRCP, FRSE, FMedSci, University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK, and Philip Bath, DSc, FMedSci, The University of Nottingham, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Nottingham, UK, discuss the findings of LACI-2 and how these results have informed the design of the planned Phase III LACI-3 trial. Over 360 patients were recruited, with high rates of retention at one year. With regards to safety, both agents demonstrated a strong safety profile, with very few cases of hemorrhage or death. ISMN use was shown to reduce recurrent stroke and cognitive impairment and improve quality of life, compared to no ISMN use. Cilostazol was shown to reduce dependency. Both agents trended towards reductions in the composite outcome of recurrent vascular events, cognitive impairment, dependency, and death. When used in combination, these effects were all protected or amplified, demonstrating proof-of-concept. This interview took place during the International Stroke Conference (ISC) 2023 in Dallas, TX.

- This is lesson n# 64 in "A DRUG IN BRIEF" Series. In this video I'm gonna discuss almost all you need to know about Clopidogrel ( Plavix 75 mg ): What is Clopidogrel Used For, Dosage, Side Effects, Precautions and mechanism of action

- In 3 minutes you'll learn:

- What is Clopidogrel ( Plavix 75 mg )?

- Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet agent. The active metabolite of clopidogrel selectively inhibits the binding of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) to its platelet P2Y12 receptor and the subsequent ADP- mediated activation of the glycoprotein GPIIb/IIIa complex, thereby inhibiting platelet aggregation. This action is irreversible.

- It is available as 75 mg tablets.

- Clopidogrel is used to prevent heart attacks and strokes in persons with heart disease (recent heart attack), recent stroke, or blood circulation disease (peripheral vascular disease). It is also used with aspirin to treat new/worsening chest pain (new heart attack, unstable angina) and to keep blood vessels open and prevent blood clots after certain procedures (such as cardiac stent).

- The usual dosage of Clopidogrel
Recent MI, Recent Stroke, or Established Peripheral Arterial Disease: PO 75 mg once daily with or without food. Acute Coronary Syndrome (Unstable Angina/Non-Q-Wave MI): ADULTS: PO Start with a 300 mg loading dose, then continue at 75 mg once daily, initiating and continuing aspirin (75 to 325 mg/day) in combination with clopidogrel.

Clozapine: Understanding Benefits and Barriers

NAMI Ask the Expert Webinar welcomes Robert O. Cotes, M.D., Director of the Clinical & Research Program for Psychosis at Grady Health, Emory University School of Medicine, who discusses the unique and potentially life-changing benefits of clozapine, an antipsychotic medication used to treat symptoms of schizophrenia.
-
Currently, the American Psychiatric Association guidelines recommend a trial of clozapine if a person still has symptoms despite two prior trials of other antipsychotic medications. However, despite its effectiveness, clozapine is underutilized in the U.S. and often treated as a “last resort” option.
-
In this presentation, Dr. Cotes helps individuals and families better understand clozapine’s benefits, side effects and recent changes to the FDA’s Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy regarding the drug.

Cosentyx: Unveiling Its Mechanism of Action, Wide Range of Uses, and Uncommon Side Effects
Cosentyx: Unveiling Its Mechanism of Action, Wide Range of Uses, and Uncommon Side Effects Side Effects 1 Views • 5 months ago

Cosentyx is a revolutionary drug that has garnered attention in the medical community for its impressive effectiveness. It belongs to a class of medications known as interleukin-17A (IL-17A) inhibitors. This means that it specifically targets and blocks the action of IL-17A, a protein that plays a crucial role in promoting inflammation in the body.
In conditions such as psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis, the immune system becomes overactive, leading to chronic inflammation. By inhibiting IL-17A, Cosentyx helps to reduce this inflammation and provide relief to patients suffering from these debilitating conditions.
The mechanism of action of Cosentyx is not limited to these specific conditions. Recent research has shown that it may also be effective in the treatment of non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis and moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. These findings highlight the versatility of Cosentyx and its potential to address a wide range of inflammatory conditions.
Common Uses of Cosentyx.
Cosentyx has been approved by regulatory bodies for the treatment of various conditions. Let's take a closer look at some of its most common uses.
Psoriasis:. Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition characterized by red, itchy patches of skin covered with silvery scales. Cosentyx has been found to be highly effective in reducing the symptoms of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. Clinical trials have shown significant improvement in skin clearance and reduced itchiness in patients treated with Cosentyx.
Psoriatic Arthritis:. Psoriatic arthritis is a type of arthritis that affects some individuals with psoriasis. It causes joint pain, swelling, and stiffness. Cosentyx has been approved for the treatment of psoriatic arthritis and has shown remarkable results in reducing joint inflammation and improving physical function in patients.
Ankylosing Spondylitis:. Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that primarily affects the spine. It causes stiffness, pain, and limited mobility. Cosentyx has been proven to be effective in reducing the signs and symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis, including spinal pain and inflammation.
Uncommon Uses of Cosentyx.
While Cosentyx is most commonly used to treat psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis, researchers have explored its potential in addressing other conditions as well. Although these applications are still being investigated, early findings are promising.
Non-Radiographic Axial Spondyloarthritis:. Non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis is a condition that causes chronic inflammation in the spine without visible structural damage on X-rays. Recent studies suggest that Cosentyx may be beneficial in reducing inflammation and improving symptoms in patients with non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis. Further research is needed to confirm these findings.
Moderate-to-Severe Plaque Psoriasis:. While Cosentyx is primarily used for moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, it has also shown potential in treating other forms of psoriasis. This includes guttate psoriasis, pustular psoriasis, and erythrodermic psoriasis. Clinical trials are ongoing to evaluate the efficacy of Cosentyx in these specific subtypes of psoriasis.
Side Effects of Cosentyx.
Like any medication, Cosentyx may cause side effects in some individuals. It is essential to be aware of these potential adverse reactions and discuss them with your healthcare provider before starting treatment.
